Singing emotional songs

ahaha
but really it's sad when you sing about your parents.
damn easy topic to use if you wanna make an emotional song, i tell you.

i got some but cant remember them. haha
i got one. 'Come Clarity' by In Flames. very nice song. dunno how to describe it la, except with the word nice.

Ehlo!

Nah emotional songs doesn't have to denote sad songs only, but it just so happens that sadness seems to be the most effective emotion as compared to the rest..

Angry songs happen to be the next popular one, but it's harder to connect the message of anger in Singapore. Maybe in countries with political conflict it's easier..

I like dreamy music! Are you a dreamy music person?? Like shoegazer and stuff?

Just to continue to the topic, Gus Gus "Is Jesus your pal?" is also emotional, but not sad.. it's just vocals over a layer of slow beats and ambient sound with no chords or melodies, but it's super creepy and pulls you to complete numbness..

FGL!
finally an eagles/don henley fan.
i love the eagles, great emotion in their songs.

Yes the heart of the matter!(:
i heard he sang it for his estranged son?

and also from the eagles,
love will keep us alive,
(when everything seems to be falling apart)

hole in the world,
(world peace!)

the girl from yesterday,
(lost love)

and of course hotel california.
emotional in that very creepy sense.

vicki(:

Just wondering, must emotional songs necessarily be sad songs? xD
I didn't really check all the post [don'tkeelmeee] but most of the songs mentioned seem to be only sad ones.

Here's a few non-sad but emotional ones:

Nice dream - Radiohead (about a nice dream :) )
How to disappear completely - Radiohead (about a another dream)
Airbag - Radiohead (about the feeling when you've just escaped death and are still alive)

Yep, all radiohead :)

Hmm.. there's also "Pirate Jenny" .. sung by Nina Simone. Not sure if she wrote it. That one is scary, not sad. It's a song about a pirate who ends up ordering the execution of everyone in a town .. but it's not a sad song, just very intense.
