20. Stroll - Singer Aaron and bassist (now playing guitar) Andrew formed a new band about 4 - 5 years ago, playing indie rock with alt country influences: Dreams Of Day Architecture.

Thanks to all the peeps who thanked me.

But you guys left out those forum peeps who passed methe mp3s over PM and such! If anyone needs to be thanked, it's those guys who allowed their tunes to be used in this comp. And those bands which I didn't ask but still use their songs anyway. Heh!

Apparently, the National Heritage Board has tonnes of digitalized demos from the 90's. I heard Evil Evan (The Observatory) was archiving it when he was working there. Hopefully, we are able to gain access to that hoard!

Truth be told, I'm like many young peeps these days. I don't really know much about the bands which came before my generation. I mean, I've heard of The Quests, The Straydogs and a few more but I didn't really give much of a hoot. Well, I guess, now hopefully, more people can hear our rock'n'roll heritage lah.

Eh, edder & agingyouth - how come you both never did the full family tree documentation of the Padres? Would the list be too long? :) Spinoff bands / bands sharing members in the extended family tree during and post Padres that I can think of include Etc, The Mother, Steelcityskies, The Observatory, LocalBarBoy, The Oddfellows, Typewriter...any others?

I'm quite surprised nobody mentioned The Black Suns...

they were holding no.1 spot on Perfect 10's top 10 on 10 for a number of weeks then..., and their video clip got a fair amount of airplay on "MTV's Most Wanted" hosted by Nonie (Nonie... *drools*...)

I still remember studying late into the night for my 'O's (or was it 'A's? yes it was that long ago) and taking time off (at midnight?) to watch MTV and Nonie's Top Ten countdown.... hahaha

ditto to clothespeg. they were heavy! my cassette is mouldy and thrown away long long time ago already. where are they now huh? saw charlene many many moons back at WMUM jam studio.

what a great song! the b-side C'mon Allison is also a killer tune. mine was on tape but i think some CDs were pressed. anyone has one?

as for Clothespeg - as far as i recall some of their best songs were not released. The couple tracks on the Pony Canyon cd (Dreary Daydream and something else) were really good, but they had some other pretty awesome tracks they used to play live - Pidgin English and Metropolis i think. Heavy riffing interspersed with catchy as hell choruses. I wish there was a recording somewhere.
