Singapore Battle Of The Bands 2006

You don't need to go further than DXO to see KEGS brings a little 'MUSE' to the competition. Creativity and originality are no stranger to the band CROSSOVER and DE ATAQ. And get pump up in a headbanging mood with a little Iron Maiden, System Of A Down with the ol'skool flavours of Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Extreme, Loudness brought by MASKERADO, COLD STEEL, VOLTAGE, SKYJUICE, SAY WHALE and NAKAJIMA (a half-blind fronted vocalist). Talent is in everyone of us. As if as brutality is'nt enough, AL GRANDE TERRORISMO (a pro-anti war band) will fire up DXO with tracks from Sepultura and more Death Metal music to their belt. When rock & metal compete on stage, the punk-rockers are as aggressive. Tight and punchy are two words to describe BROKEN VALENTINE and TABLE 4 FOUR who coincidently is also one of the youngest perticipant for SBOTB2006. To those old' guys, its time to give way and be shock to what these young kids can do.

And if all the above does not 'moved' you, three other reason that would make you leave your house and be at DXO on 20th august 2006........KING KONG JANE (Champion of T.U.S.H band competition) , OSAIRIS (who hypnotize 2000 fans at Rock Revival) and last but certainly not the least, SILKSUTRA (Runner Up for SBOTB2005).

I absolutely loved Al Grande Terrorismo's performance. Damn unique, and the belly dancer was a nice touch.

But I did find it kind of strange as to why the MC felt the need to point out the fact that the vocalist of NAKAJIMA was half-blind.

Al Grande's performance was close to surreal. interesting use of props and the belly dancer does make a few in the crowd stand...

on tables and chairs to get a better view.

is the guitarist using a roland multi efx? couldnt see...
but wah i went crazy when they did sepultura's "war for territory"

ol skool!

hey...... thnx guys for your support. i m actually using roland's gr20 guitar synth. thats wer all the keyboard sounds comes from. anyway, all the bands performed yesterday was superb!!!! crossover and sky juice will be my personal fav! say whale was realy insane man!!! and a steady bom pit pit salute to nakajima!!! got to wait till nex week for the result. and big thanx to the two stage crew who help us set up. sorry for the delay....cant make it with out you guyz.

i was the guitarist with the jackson RR...i would like to apologise to KKJ for showing my middle finger when i realised they were palynig the same song as my band's chosen cover. i would like to thankyou souljah for helping me with my tunings.

Kheir nice work with the guitar synth and the sampler, I thought it was very creative, sounded really nice during the soundcheck, but such a pity that there were difficulties during the real thing. But all sorted out I thought it sounded great! :)

Hay...wow, sweeping over the head. That was a really cool move man! Shack man. No worries about the tuner! :)

As for the standard of the competition...I think we all have to agree that it was great. I thought all bands performed their best. It's gonna be damn hard decidining who goes through and who does not.

All the best to everyone!!!! 8)

Yesterday was interesting...24 bands from both days of semi-finals had their hearts pumping hard...especially after seeing all the 12 bands performed...everyone did their best to save a spot in the finals...

my favourites:
Mythician - this band, really rocks!...they really kept everyone's head banging..rather fast...every player did well...especially the vocalist....a female infact...!

Project Ultra Sound - has always been my favourite...they have nice grooves n sounds...yeah..Ultra sounds...cool effects on the vocals...should get that vocal effects for my band...

Al Grande Terrorismo - metal meets arab tunes?...amazing...how did he get that sound from his guitar??..oh roland gr20?...will there be more dancing gerls in the finals?..

SkyJuice - Another kick ass band...tight...with fantastic bassist which does billy sheehan's shits..!! * drools..the guitarist shreds..!!...what a combo..

Voltage - these oldtimers still have the vibe...we just cant live without them...no them..no rock...haha

Shockingly there are 14 bands in the finals!!....thats includes 2 wildcards...so expect another hard competition....lets count the days to 10 Sept 2006...

My band, Blaster Foundation would like to wish the Finalists all the best and have as much fun as you can...as this is a reward for our hard work that we have put on in the past weeks or months...

See you guys soon..!!!

Hi funkees,
This is Brandon the guitar player of skyjuice here. Thanks for the compliments and am glad you enjoyed our performances. Your band is definitely one of my favourite bands among Project Ultrasound and Terrismo. You have a great rhythm section in your band, the drummer and bassist keeps things really tight and groovy. The overall sound of your band, i must say is really damn good.

hey Brandon...what a coincidence of your nick n ur playing...SHRED...haha....thks for your compliments too...actually we weren't that happy with our performance that day...but surprisingly we all managed to get into the finals...thats more important... I guess all the finalists had a good nite sleep after that.... :D
