Silly question but how do I mount P90 soapbars?

Hi fellas,

Bought a set of P90 pups but it did not come with mounting hardware!! Its said so on the website and its my fault for assuming it would be easy to install on a pickguard. I naively though it might just need a few screws or something.

How do I mount soapbar pickups on a pickguard? I think i probably need to buy mounting hardware but where do i get it? Checked some of the guitar parts site on the internet and cant seem to find it.

Does davis or other guitar stores have it? Anyone can point me to where I can buy it over the net in case its not available locally?

Thanks!!

Hi,

Bought the pickups and the pickguard from reverend. Pics of both can be found under in-stock/reduced on the website.

Probably needs some kinda metal bracket to mount it onto the pickguard.

Any ideas where to get?

Thanks.

i supposed you be fixing up the thing on a reverend guitar?

For the slingshot custom which i have, beneath the p90 pu, theres a flat metal plate connected to the pu itself via 2 longer screws at the center. This plate is the one thats connected to the pickguard via the 2 side screws

If the p90s you have dont come with this plate, maybe you can send a mail to reverend and check with them whether is it available.

either that or you can attach a wooden base plate at the bottom of the pickup cavity so that your pickup screws can be inserted into them.

i had a similar experience with the DLX Plus (pic)- no mounting bracket + the original screw cavities were at the centre of the pickup itself...

ooh a p90 thread. maybe its out of topic but i want to inform/warn everyone about installing a seymour duncan p90 stack in your les paul. The pickup is thicker than normal and your bridge cavity may not be deep enuff! I had to get my guitar routed in order for it to fit. Seymour duncan only has 1 p90 that is stacked, i chose it over the dimarzios thinking the screws in the middle would mean i don't have to drill holes for the screws. oh well

The Duncan webpage does warn you of that issue.

Good to enlighten us. ^^

Dont think I can mount a wooden plate on a reverend.

Anyone know where I can get the flat metal plate to attached to the P90s in order to mount it to the pickguard?

Thanks.
