just get GAS.

it's still good to explore the new pickups. i hope they come up with a new better improved tonezone. can you imagine or not, the tonezone is already so good, they come up with TONEZONE 2 or smth. whoa lao eh, confirm the tone will make my amp melt.

There actually is a pup that you can consider to be a Tonezone 2. Its the AIR ZONE.

Slightly lower output, weaker magnet pull so better sustain (not obvious when in bridge though) and overall, there's more space to breath so to speak. The TZ is hot and edgy, the Air Zone is more vintage sounding while retaining the same character of the TZ, except less bite lah.

hmm.. maybe i won't say death metal.. something like Michael Romeo's tone?

you want to nail Michael Romeo's tone?

Basswood guitar, 24 frets with floyd rose.

Dimarzio X2N in bridge and Tonezone in neck.

Thats it. :) Have fun, there's a guy selling the X2N online... and I've play it before.. there's a review of it here and a sound clip. :)

how about disturbed guitarist Dan Donegan tone?

Crunchy low end even on Hi Gain?

Heh. Try a Dimarzio Megadrive or Steve's Special (Closest thing to Petrucci's bridge pup and 1 brand new available on luther)

The megadrive is discontinued but its still available on custom order from Dimarzio... or 2nd hand. Its like the Steve's Special except with slightly lesser gain but more mids so its not that scooped sounding. It also has a unique design, 1 bar magnet and 1 coil magnet.

I used the megadrive before... I thought it had great clarity on the bridge and depending on which side the bar magnet faced, you could opt for a tighter, brighter tone or a more bassy low end tone (ala D-Sonic). It wasn;t my cup of tea on the bridge, so I plonked it in the neck and I loved it... not as much as my HFH though. ;) In the neck, the tone has the pick attack of the PAF Pro (wettish) but its pretty tight yet retaining some fatness. Plus, if you can coil split AND choose the coils, you get 2 distinct tones, 1 bassy warm tone thats quite compressed, and 1 quacky single coil tone. Interesting eh?

I have to agree with one of the earlier replies. You're a top notch guitarist. Probably one of the best on this site! 03:46 onwards absolutely made my jaw drop. Reminded me of a Michael Angelo video I watched before. Top stuff! Good job buddy, I enjoyed groovin' to that funk! Keep it up~

Hey guys, thanks for listening....

I didn't expect this response at all! Thanks a lot... its encouraging to know that ppl like to listen to my stuff and there's good critique going on... Spurs me on to play harder!

nice! why didn't show off your killer sweeps?! although at some points it felt like you ran out of ideas so you kept bending or vibrato-ing the same note. but when you do into the zone, you're really funky.
Though I'm not a big fan of the tonezone, I prefer your old sound more. I felt the one I heard at your place was much better :p
can you include the final lick from 4:25 into the tab pls???!!

Ahhh. haha... vaiyen... i dunno... when i was recording this, the idea to put sweeps in never came ... ;) I was actually just seeing how far I could take the old pentatonic and come up with fresh sounds...

Anyway! Your tab is coming along soon! :)
