Shredcow's Custom Guitar?

Well, the vids I have are crappy stuff.

Have a listen to this - http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=641337&songID=7997487
Its a line-in recording so don't expect to be awed but I took quite a bit of time to get this tone setup right. I think its quite good.

Right. Yup, cleans shouldn't be too hard to handle. I'm talking about the semi-distorted note clarity. But from what I'm hearing on the clip, you're nearly there. Good sound !

If I am right however, anymore gain and you'd be losing that articulation I'm hearing on the clip.

You got it right - moderate gain is hard to nail. The current pickups I have use the same magnets in Q-Tuners (google them up) and if you hear the Q-tuner clips, you'd notice that they sound great clean and under heavy gain... but under moderate gain, its really meh.

Its about that balance side of things. The pups I have now, are tight enough but not tight to the point where I can pump in any more gain. Yet the pups are a touch too tight for medium gain tones. Going to explore with... I think the 2 Agile 8 string pups I have coming in are using Ceremics. That's a more familiar territory for me.

That clip... you're right again. Can't put in any more gain. Well, maybe for the leads I can but yeap.

Ok... repeat after me... NEE-OH-DEE-NEE-UM. Neodynium! Get it??? Learn to spell it.

What you want are Bareknuckles... you know you do...

Deposit fired off... Now for the wait.

Decided on no piezos... I'll leave the acoustic stuff to the acoustic guitar...

Wimp!

And the single coils?

It single coil? It remains! Oni is going to work on a true blue single coil with a noise-cancelling system similar to Suhr's.

I'm just contemplating 26 frets vs 24.

hey dan, just wondering, how bout the floyd? i thought u loved the stuff?

I still have my USACG with the gotoh floyd. It gets some play still. The floyd gives a lot of flavour and adds a whole lot of nuances...

But I really like the idea of an 8 string. Just itching to try out a really good, well designed one... so something has gotta give, ya?

I'd prolly look into a 27 fret, 6 stringer some time in the future.

go 22 frets lah!!!

Do not want!!!

Actually, I already told Oni - that the single coil is meant to KILL. Heh. So go to 22 frets if need be.

Best thing - the fanned design would already slant the neck pup in a way that the bass side is closer to the bridge. Tighter low end already!

Try an EQ before gain. I have a feeling you need to cut some of the sub 120hz freq to prevent the lower strings from muddying out.

Hey Seekz, its cool. I think I got a good balance of EQ and stuff right now...

Check this out - http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=641337&songID=8281756

If anything, this EQ thing is fun messing-around business. Take away the sub freqs, and suddenly, things don't really thump as much. Take away something else, the tone turns bad when I go back to play regular range stuff. Add it back, and the low end isn't tight enough. It's fun though...

Yeap!

I was trying to say that I failed (forgetting abt the fan) and was fumbling ard for a futile excuse.... honest!

Oh yeah, do you still want that EMG-808?

No $$ now, car got involved in accident, traded it in and just paid downpayment for new car. Had to shelf my plan for an Axe-FX too :(

Ouch man... Hope you and whoever was in the car are ok...

No one was hurt, except the car. In fact I wasn't even in the car, my friend borrowed it. $28K insurance claim, and my premium tripled, excess quadrupled. -.-"

Kk, dun hijack his thread.
