pls share your amp settings here..
these are some that i got out from the net and also with some modification on my mt-2


Deftones Sound

Devices Used:
Mesa Boogie amp ( half stack )

Sound Description:
Sounds like the deftones tone

Settings:
level: half way or more(12:00)
low: 3:00
high: half way (12:00)
mid: half way (12:00)
mid frequency: 9:00
distortion: 12 - 3:00 which ever u like better

My distortion and overdrive come from pedals, so my amplifier is perpetually on cleans. I prefer these base settings because they seem to work on most solid-state amplifiers:

Bass: Maximum
Treble: Maximum
Mids: Half
Presence: Half
Gain: 1/4

Some amplifier clean channels do have a gain switch, and rolling it to 0 equals to volume being 0 as well, its more like a mild drive switch that companies put on solid-state amplifiers to allow stimulation of natural tube amplifier overdrive. Not a bad idea, if the tone is too clean, its dead sounding, at least to my ears.

Whether its my 10-watt at home, or the 100-watt at the studio, its still these settings. Somehow, they sound nice.

Amplifiers I've used these settings on:
- Marshall AVT150X half-stack
- Ibanez Tone Blaster 100H half-stack
- Smarvo 100-watts combo (unknown model)
- Sound Drive SG-10 combo

Into DS-1 Dist full, tone 12oclock

The amp is a yamaha GA-15 practice amp.............. =(
