Rusty Strings After 1 Month

I think every player should know how to change the strings. If you go to a guitar tech to change everytime your strings gets rusty, its gonna cost you a lot of money and time wasted on travelling. Spend wisely and use the money to get other accessories for your guitar. If you do not want to change your strings frequently, get the Elixir strings but its gonna cost you more then 3 times more the normal strings. You decide.

Any idea where to get the Elixir strings and how much? Thanks!

Just learn how to restring on your own... If you don't know how, go to youtube and search. Look for the video with Justin Sandercoe (or something like that)

if i remember correctly, some brands offer stainless steel strings. i haven't used them before but i reckon that it'll take a longer time to rust than the usual ones. btw inferior grades of stainless steel do rust. it'll be helpful to wipe down the strings after play and keep the guitar in a hardcase with silica gel or other drying agent.

tools u need for changing strings - a pair of pilers/wire cutters to cut off the excess length will be helpful. the bros/sisters here are spot on - changing the strings urself is a rite of passage for all guitarists. cheers!

Hi,
I wanted to know if Swee Lee provided restringing services and how much would it cost because I bougth a Epiphone SG and i only had it for 1 month when the string turned rusty.I think it has been on display for a while, hence the rusty strings. Any advice is greatly appreciated. :-D

Learn to re-string your guitar, otherwise it will get very costly and time consuming. You especially need to know what gauge strings you are using. Damn, Im sure anyone in the forum would be glad to teach you! If not PM me, I will help you out...no worries. Support!

my electric guitar strings never rust. i remember when it was 6months i didnt change my strings cause didnt know how to and didnt bother but, no rust. now i change them around once a month, rust or not.

restringing the guitar yourself sure gives a lot of satisfaction as a guitar player and owner.
