RG guitars.. whats with the number??

I have tried very hard to figure out the difference between these models, but just can't get any info on the net... Would be grateful if someone helped me out .. here are the models i am curious about..
RG-
550 EX and DX
570 EX and DX

from what i know , the pickgaurd i think.
EX has one , DX doesnt.
sorry if im wrong.

Its the color. DX is white and EX is black.

models ending with 50 usually has pickguard.e.g,550,2550,350
models ending with 70 usually has no pickguard.e.g,570,370,2570,1570

EX and DX,DOES NOT ALWAYS BEEN BLAC OR WHITE.

for example,RG370DX comes in blue too.

yeah, agree with Rimuel. 5 in the middle means with pickguard, 7 without.
DX, from what I know, will have the sharktooth inlay.

Not sure about that.. .. the EX model is the one with sharktooth inlays
