hi, I came from here : madwerewolfboy's post regarding h4n heheh
http://soft.com.sg/forum/gear-sound/153485-home-studio.html
I'm not christian, i'm buddhist so I have never heard this song before.
but hey it sounds good, personally your vocal tone is great to start with but it's a little shakey, like not stable. some parts a little flat but keep on practising. If you could sing this with vibrato on your voice it would be really great. because when you drag "amazing graaaaace" , it sounds like a straight line so vibrato would add way lot of feel to it.
I have 7 tips for recording vocals usually.
1-lyrics (duh. grammar.vocab.noun.etc.)
2-tempo
3-pitch
4-pronunciation (engrish assent? singlish? japanglish? american english)
5-feel (songs are musical stories, so portraying the emotions of the story)
6-tone (somewhat related to feel, but this is more vocal tone than emotions)
7-condition (u sound like you smoke alot haha.in any case, avoid spicy/dairy. drink luke warm water with honey. don't whisper when you're having a cough it makes it worse. etc)
gd luck
P.S : solobetty - i don't know what's your background, but reading your past posts it seems like no one in singapore impresses you, you pass off a quick insensitive judgement on anything local you hear but fail to foresee potential in someone who's willing to learn, try, and improve. You slap highly-assumptious-cover-ur-ass-in-advance labels claiming the person you're dissing is egoistic or can't take criticism should they reply negatively.seriously, I highly recommend an expat music forum or take up politics or Law cos your sense of debate is highly tactical to your advantage except it's just sad that you're on your own.. SOLObetty..
