my guitar's paint is like this one

i worry it'll be much harder to strip the paint off

I might not be able to spot the difference between a hot rails and a hot stack that easily, but I'm sure those aren't hot rails.

REPLY!@!

i tink Seymour Duncan.. haha hey reply la.. we're eager to noe ur guit model as well as e pups model.

Unlikely to be S.D's. SD's have big poles, and the pickups usually have Seymour Duncan printed right at the base of the set of coils facing the bridge.

IMHO.... the paint is very easy to strip...~
The biggest problem lies in the lacquer or varnish ~

sanding or chemical is not the only way (unless you wanna stain and see the wood grain) ...
if it's just to repaint, you can shortcut the process by just scoring the varnish on top.
Paint a layer of basecoat ...
Followed by your desired colour and pattern.

BUT, be wary that this is not the best way ~!
It's shortcut ... and only if u're lazy ~
if ur guitar's paint has started to crack... this is not an option~
Also ... imagine if you chip the top layer of paint, and see the original colour. hahahahah ~!
might make a nice pattern though ~

PAINT REMOVER can do that. You'll be amazed how easy to strip it off. even the lacquer finish one. The lacquer will melt once you apply it. Then use scraper to remove all the paint till the bare wood.

Re: Ignore!

no, but some choose to spend their time more productively by searching for knowledge enhancing information or practicing on their instrument, focus directly on improving instead of posting senseless comments all day..

Just bare in mind that if u intend to use a penetrating finish or stains/dyes on the wood. Paint remover alone is not enough.

The wood is usually sealed using a penetrating sealer, which paint remover can't remove on it's own. The layer of wood that's impregnanted with a sealer would have to be sanded off else the wood won't take any stain.
