I've repainted my guitar...
it's a cheap strat imitation ... so .. didnt really mind if i spoilt it.
i stripped it to the barewood (not really necessary), but found alot of faults in the wood, so decided to spray black (ard 5-8 coats), fine sanding after every 3 coats.
followed by 10 layers of lacquer.
Prob: i sprayed the lacquer too fast (between coats), resulting in many "lines/cracks".
But this worked in my favour, coz i used a silver permanent marker (fine tip, to draw the "cracks" in), followed by another 3 coats of lacquer (fines sand after every coat)
Changed the pickguard to a reflective one (mirror)...
now my strat imitation, looks like an ibanez with a strat headstock...
but i find her beautiful ~!
Quite easy actualy ...
1. just strip the lacquer (hardest part)
2. put base coat paint - fine sand
3. spray the background paint
(might be better to put light colours den tape over before dark/black spray)
