recording questions

hi guys,
ive been recording stuff through my line6 gx.
however i do not know how to insert a backing track, like as in the song i wanna cover, if i insert it in audicity, i cant hear while recording, anyone can help?

whats the format of the backing track?

The usual way of doing, if backing track is in mp3/wav format, just need to insert new empty audio track in audicity, import the backing track file(either in mp3/wav format which all daw, including audicity should be able to recognize)

insert another new audio track for recording.

arm the audio track for recording, press record, it shud play back the backing track's track while capturing the new audio data at the same time in another track
