recommendations for PRS

sqoobs: not a problem. hope the site helps u in making rational choices for ur next acquisition.

killinghall: can tell that u r a yellow fan uh?

cookie: maybe u shud haf a feel of both the original PRS & their SE offerings & also the POT guitars, then decide which of them speaks to ur needs :)

when it comes to PRS, the different offerings do not substitute one another. they just appeal differently. if you like a particular make/ model, chances are, you like what it has to offer.

when i bought the McCarty, i tried the CU22/ 24/ STD & finally decided to opt for the most no-frills model available. no regrets.

If u ask me, head down to davis and use ur ears...it's not really of much use if u go with something in mind and they happen not to have it..besides, u wont be deciding based on looks only cos tone is king..do keep in mind prs guitars have 25" neck scales so they will never sound anything like fender or gibsons with the same setup :) (hope i'm not too late saying this)

Hi all,

Im looking for my 2nd guitar and i need help in choosing a PRS

Any recommendations? a good clean tone would be perfect... pls state the price also :D

any updates on which PRS you got? im also in the hunt for my first PRS. :D

i used to have reservations about the neck joint too until i played a McCarty. despite the cynical remarks pertaining to the bulky neck heel, it impedes very little upper fret access.

my McCarty & Ibanez are friends 8)

+1 thats exactly how i felt..but the mccarty sounds so nice with chords that i don't want to play into the upper register :D

I have a PRS standard 22 and a SAS. Both are almost at the opposite ends of the tonal spectrum. Which is why i got them in the first place. I got both of the 2nd hand, overseas. Each one is ard 2K, good deals i guess. The playability is superb, as i like the wide fat neck radius. The craftmanship is superb with well real nice tone.
The standard is the heavier more rocking tone of the two, and i strung it with 10-52 tuned to C so yeah that adds to the heaviness. The standard is well in my book a strat killer though yeah its still no strat, but it has a superb clean tone..
