The other thing about the Swee Lee is that SL tries to create a hype by "slashing prices" (or maybe not) for 2 days and make customers queue up and rush for items. I would prefer a sale like City Music where you have a whole month to choose and select item and there is no long queue or rush.
Last year sale for 50% is actually 10% less than the usual 40%;
bought one SRX card, was tempted to buy the FantomXR at a
price of $1800 but still held back by the XV5050 and JV2080 at home.
Maybe next year... haha... by then something new would come along.
I notice Swee Lee sales tend to make up stories like
if you get the display, you'll get 50% discount;
and if you don't, a new set would only be 40% less
which is the usual daily price. This is a sales trick and
only weak minded would bu ythe story...
To answer JOEL68 query of loitering and not buying...
why buy if I don't need the gear immediately???
SH201 is a killer analog modelling synth,
when it comes to analog synth, ROLAND is KING !!!
sure to buy a SH201, after I'm sick of the SH32 and microKorg.
Citymusic and Music plaza sale is very much professional with
proper brochures and ads. However, I also noticed Music plaza
try not to over advertise their flagship gear sale. If you noticed,
not a single ad on Motif ES clearance until I drop to look see...
Probably Citymusic is the friendliest to consumers,
best bargains and good service. Wanted to get the
Legacy AE and DE but sold out !!! So bought a Korg K25
with M1 le, hopefully can upgrade it to Legacy DE via
KORG USA online. The K25 comes with a X-Y joystick/mouse
to fully utilize the Wavestation patches. Anyway, can't really
work very well, using a mouse maybe better... haha.. wrong
procurement
Cheers ALL !!! Happy New Year 2007 !!!
hope more bargains next year end !!! hahaha!!!
