Hey guys

I am looking for amps now. probably not higher than 30watt since its for home use

a few models i am looking at. I need ur recommendation on which is more money for value.

Roland Cube 15/30
Line 6 Spider III 15/30
Marshall MG15

Or any other better choices?

At home...30W is too loud..

10W or 15W is enough..
Marshall MG-15, Hughes&Kettner Edition Blue 15R,
Fender Frontman 15R and more..
and how about Orange Crush 10 or Crush 15...

also U can find Full Tube Amps..
Laney LC-15R..Very good small full tube amp..

15 watt full tube is way too loud for home practice. for full tube, maybe a 1/2 watt will be just nice, or a 5 watt.

amongst those 3, cube 30. spider and MG dont really hold a candle to it.

Wait for SL sale - go for the Valbee, some more got effects send/return loop. 5w - loud and good enuff for home practice, within your budget too..

ibanez valbee? or a roland microcube?
was gassing for it a while back but got a multifx instead..
but i tried the microcube and it sounds gooooood..
why dont u head down to a shop and out try their amps?

i would recommend... Vox Pathfinder 15R... about $180 only. good cleans... but thats about it la... i'm assuming u got solid pedals in ur efx chain

yes, there is a CUBE20- it's a CUBE20X to be precise, from the current CUBE X generation. however, for tonal appeal, I would recommend the CUBE30x.

the revised Ibanez Toneblaster X models are also worth checking out, the 30watter is recommend. I am impressed with the current drive intensity & tonal definition- review coming 8)

I own the ValBee, it's a wonderful performer but be prepared to hook up drive pedals to acqire a more intense drive.

if there is a good, practice grade Marshall to be had, it's the MG15 mini stack for those of us who employ a guitar + amp set up.

Thanks ppl.

So i suppose line 6 spiders are out.

but i suppose the valbee is a bit too small, a 5 watter? Nvr thought of that.

A cube 30 and the valbee cost about the same. Marshall MG15 probably a bit cheaper.

stack?? omg.. the size of a 15 wattx2 + amp head.

i think its too bulky for me, i am carry the amp overseas, SIA only allows 30kg of luggage, the stack is going to take me 20.. not realistic. though i dream to own a set.

I would suggest Laney LC 15R. Its nice for a small tube amp. However, im using a 60w fender amp & its too loud. But its worth it.

:smt075 Mr. kenbellston, you did not mentioned that you are going to bring the amp overseas. Is it for short trips or are you migrating?
