Recommend Fuzz Pedal

Pardon my remark....Yes ....it is sub ..it is ....as i have tried it ...and f'more i don't see it mentioned much around people who actually use lotsa fuzz .... !!
 
i got great results using it, not in isolation though but in conjunction with DS-1/ my amp's crunch channel/ tubescreamer. it's not crap in general, that's for sure. popularity & worthiness isn't a sure equation.
 
oh yes thats cool combo ...some like it the other way fuzz > dirt/boost ...

Anyways ....transistor based fuzz (either silicon / germ ) has that bite that an op-amp based pedal lacks imho ....
 
i'm beyond that i think, to me if it sounds good, has something for me, it's game; transistor based or otherwise.

btw, the Tweak Fuzz isn't the only fuzz i own EHX's Big Muff/ Nano Muff are others.
 
the tweak fuzz is actually a 'cheaper' version of the handmade afro fuzz coz of the use of 2 silicon transistors instead of 1 silicon + 1 germanium. i havent try the tweak fuzz, been wondering how it sounds like.
 
Actually... its not THAT interesting...

start with thin, am radio thin (no bass) then up up up to more bass more bass more bass...

That's it. Sort of.
 
guys honestly i really dont see why u all try to hard to help pple as such when dont u notice a trend popping up. just click back to the first few pages and see whether the thread starter even was around to answer the questions u put to him so u could help him. instead it becomes more like another discussion thread which would prob belong under the boutique gear or pedal talks. really unwanted, this kinda stupid hit and run question pple.

at least for crying out loud pple u wanna ask questions start using abit of brains. its like asking someone else: what should i wear without even stating the damned occasion. help us help u! and shredcow i was shooing him away cos the question was like the what burger should i get one.

Cos we sidestep the topic, hijack the thread, and start talking about what we want to talk about.

I've tried the tweak fuzz on various occasions and never liked it. Doesn't sound furry or nasty enough for me.
 
Hmm.

The double muff is the first "fuzz" effect that I own, although I have heard others before. The question i have is... what is the main tonal difference between transistor based fuzz and those with op-amp / IC chips?

Cos all that guru talk is making me confused. :lol:
