Re: VOX PATHFINDER 10 AMPLIFIER

Of course, Vox amps are suitable for rock.
I'm just saying that they can produce a very good sound for blues-driven styles cos of the nice overdrive and cleans IMO.
Well, I play guitar sometimes but I don't consider myself a guitarist. :P

i think the very nice sounding "bell-like" cleans are somewhat suitable for blues also, aiyah, no need to argue one lah, ppl take mesa boogie and jam blues also none of my business. Just relac lor

doesnt matter one lah,

Good amp, the od is just damn creamy well.
Most feedback points that the default patches suck, so lots of tweaking needed.

I apologise if I sound like nit picking... but do cut me some slack... i'm an old man... :D

First its "Blues" as in the genre not "Blue" as in the color.

Secondly, your friend may need some education in the school of rock. Vox amp not famous... he probably have not heard of the legendary AC30.

Thirdly, wangdexian told me on the other thread that he doesn't even play guitar.

No offense hor! Just pointing out only. :D

lol :P beatles used the legendary ac30.

hmmz.. but vox is known for the warmness and superbly round tone ?

Warm... now thats subjective. I've always felt Vox have that distinct chiming highs. I never thought of the Vox amp sound as warm.

hmm... warm as in lotsa smooth blend of mids ? defintely not bright though. what i do find is that vox lack bass.. not that good on lower frequencies , lack punch and volume and especially defintition on the lower notes. perhaps this is the reason why at high gain / distortion it isnt good ?

just get a microcube like what sheadcrow said...you get a acoustic sim,a JC 120, A fender bassman, A vox AC30, A marshall JPM 1987, an a mesa all into one small compact like amp...and it sounds good thanks to COSM...plus it has a battery compartment so you can use batteries....wait... i forget to mention that there are still effects...you get your standard delay and reverb plus chorus, tremolo, phraser and flanger...and it too sounds good...and for 2 watts..IT OWNS MAN!!!!!!! this amp is for the true budget-concious bedroom guitar hero...Wait! the amp has outputs for connecting to a CD-Player..that way..you can play along with the CD...and once you have enough cash to buy a new amp(remember to buy a Cube 30 or 15)........it becomes a portable mic amplifier...so now...you can play along and sing along as well!..how cool is that?!!...

Roland Cube users! lets unite and spread the truth of COSM...( you know you want it...)

hey, if given the chance to choose between VOX pathfinder 10w and Kustom KGA10FX, which would you all choose? both are 10w.

I think both Clean are really nice but the distortion sucks big time....

distorted sound is about taste and music genre you play. Hmm also consider difference between overdrive and distortion..don't mixed up. I think vox pathfinder is overdrive not distortion amp. If you like distortion amp, cube 30 or 30x is best!! a bit too loud for room amp but 30x got the "magic button" to reduce hold your amp from too loud..forgot the button name hahaha...
