quitest and clearest pickup

Dimarzio's Area series is really quiet. They are pretty clear sounding too.

Humbucker wise... some Bartolini passives are dead quiet + clear sounding. Kind of dull sounding though. Dimarzio Humbucker From Hell?

Seymour Duncan blackouts, extremely clear, extremely quiet, you might not appreciate the power if you don't intend to play metal though.

^ yes totally different designs. but junhao405 said EMG actives got "powerful clean tone" and it is even the "Best pickup for fender ever" (to him). so i was just asking if he had tried the fender single coils to compare the "powerful clean tone". yeah...

you want quiet and clear? go active - eg blackouts, emgs, etc.

All of them are dead quiet and clear... to the point of sounding sterile and "plastic" as some would say.

I heard the 70's original fender pickup, super clean too. but i heard that it got humming problem right?

I am not sure about 70s original fender SC. but humming is not very obvious in clean... correct me if i am wrong. :)

Excalty. When u put distortion, is terrible. Because it dun have this Nosie Cancelling function.

But it is cleaner compare to emg.

fender has those noise cancelling single coils. they sound like single coils but dont have that 60 cycle hum when you kick distortion(or even in clean).

seymour duncan, dimarzio, guitar fetish, lace sensor etc etc has these pickups too haha.

for passive humbuckers, im not too sure. when it gets noisy i just lower down the gain and play from there.
but i heard bareknuckle pickups got that quite open and refined tone? is that true? hahaha

^ I tried them. no biggie, but if you want the output of active pups with the warm characteristics and dynamic headroom of a passive pup - consider the Dimarzio D-Activator X.

I a/bed the blackouts with the d-activator x....the latter had more headroom and interpreted picking dynamics better with less compression. Output was reduced slightly compared to the blackouts but pups are only a small part of the tonal equation....it isnt gonna make much of a difference if you'r using crappy pedals or amps.
