if i'm not wrong, all wah suck a bit of tone... but depends on what kinda wah... good ones suck so lil, its almost hard to hear a diff... bad ones... well definately have a lot of difference...

whats ur wah?

Just do a test.

plug your guitar into efx to amp. Play for a good 15 mins.

Stop.

Quickly plug STRAIGHT to the amp!

Realised how much treble has been lost.

Of course, works best on a bright, clean amp.

tone suck as in with the pedal in the chain but not activating it already is causing the problem

or

tone suck as in with the wah pedal in the chain and when the wah is activated and it causes the sucking

I would think tone suck when not activated since when you activate, the tone change quite a lot already. Of course when you activate and it affects you that much then probably also.

was just thinking before or after activation coz having the wah true passed aint too difficult nowadays or using a true bypass box with the wah in it will solved the problem.

But if the meaning of tone suck is the change when the wah pedal is activated, that one cant be help liao i guess. Coz wah a filter and if it dont suck out some frequency and adding it, then the filter prolly spoilt.

Imho and might be wrong:D

Thats like saying,

My Ds1 sucks tone.

When its on, i lose all my sparkly highs, and somehow, I get this un-natural sustain and fattness, i lose all clarity! :(

TB for wahs are pretty standard fare, but nowadays, some wahs come with a proper buffer, how do they fare I wonder?
