just wanna ask where i can find the following cables in singapore?

Lavacable
Evidence Audio
George L's
Bill Lawrence
Proel
BOSS premium patch cables
Monster cable

and also..

what kind of standard normal tail pieces and bridges for les pauls can i get in singapore? i wanna switch mine out cause the oxidation is beginning to become an eyesore. i've seen some in ranking (prolink) but are they any good? hoping to get some quality sustain from my new hardware.

Lavacable: Soundwaves Multimedia
Evidence Audio: Zen Guitarwerkz
George L's: Blackwood

TYMC has Caneres. Canares, Mogami etc are easily found at Sim Lim Tower too.

For replacement tailpieces etc, I'd go for the Gotohs. If you're going to replace them, might as well just something good.

Zen Guitarwerkz and TYMC has Gotoh parts.

thanks everyone for the input! hope my hunt is successful!

Haha! Glad to be of some help.

My other hobby is hi-fi. So I'll give you my opinion that you should probably avoid them Monsters. Tried them and didn't impress. And that was before I read the Monster Cable VS Clothes Hanger experiement. For the price... well, all I can say is that you can find better.

Never had the chance to try Bill Lawrence, but George L's, yes. Am using the Evidence Audio Monorails now, I like them. Good mix of quality and affordability.

i use ea monorails with george l heads.

but its best you solder then to, like, switchcraft flatheads or something.

Yeap, as per what Dudelove said.

Evidence Audio is the brand, their line of patch cables is called the Monorail.

Can go solderless with George L heads, or get them soldered with Switchcraft flat-heads. I use the flat-heads because every inch of real-estate on my board is precious.

The default plugs are the Amphenol plugs, can also get from Zen.

I'm using EA Melody for my patches with the amphenol heads at the moment. My suggestion if you want to save board space is to get the lava no-solder kit and wire accordingly. I think the process should be pretty straightforward.

i heard that the solderless george L's a kinda unreliable. if tone can be attain with the right cables, then i am looking for fat smooth tones. i like to stay away from the highs. what would you recommend? my gs6 canares with flats worked well for me but they died recently.

right now, i have plenty of board space to spare. so not too particular about space. just looking for good decent patch cables that will last?

when comes to cable, whats important is the reliablity of the plug(wont tarnished easily), the solder joint(proper soldering with no cold joint and lumpy soldering lead) and low capacitance(ensure the signal is passed thru enitrely instead of losing the high frequency to capacitance)

A proper guitar cable is best that doesnt colour the sound and allow geetar signal to pass through entirely to the pedals and to amp.

To get a good "tone" the last place we wanna, is to have a cable that alter the inherent characteristic of the geetar. Most wont want a cable that "colour" the sound, of course unless all the "tone" we wanna, is partly, based on the cable. Try googling for long coiled cable, jimi hendrix etc

For cable thats spoilt easily, sometime it aint the cable itself, but the way which the plugs are soldered to the cable itself and the quality of the plug itself. To save money, one way is to cut away the plug, buy new plugs, resolder it properly(provided the cable is still working fine. Using a multimeter and test for continuity first). I have been using canare cables for few years with mixed of cheapo china made plug and more expensive plugs. Both has lasted till now except the china made one get tarnished more easily.

For those solderless type, its reliability also have to depend on the users. If the cable is done correctly and never shifted about regularly(constant plugin in and out when changing pedals on the board or shifting round when place in pedalboard and moved about, it can last as well.

For cable like george l, evidence etc, some users(including me) noticed an "increased" in the hi frequency characteristic(clearer sounding) when just switched over from cheapo cable. This response prolly due to the lower capacitance compared to those cheapo cable, thus allowing "more" of the geetar signal to pass through.

And it die die wanna use cable to get warm tone, heh, go solder a small value of capacitor in the region of picofarad perhaps to the cable. It will be warm tone all the way. But do note that no one will prolly do this coz its more of a joke then to really do it
