i still cant get the intonation rite. the saddles are almost close to the end of the bridge,no possible screwing can be done liao... sad...

The Hellecaster's Jerry Donahue is very particular when it comes to setting-up his guitars. Over the years he's evolved a very neat method that not only solves the problems of a 3-saddle Telecaster bridge but also, Donahue believes, makes any guitar with a 6 saddle bridge play more in tune. So, here's how Jerry sets his 3-saddle Teles.
Tune all open strings as normal. But adjust the centre saddle so that the G-string, fretted at the 12th fret, is marginally sharp of its harmonic (which is in tune). The D-string, fretted at the 12th, is therefore marginally flat of the harmonic.
Now, via the machinehead, adjust the G-string so you get that fretted note in tune, effectively flattening the G-string. Use your ears as a guide. A root position E major chord should sound in tune to your ear with the G# (first fret G-string) being slightly flat, but not so much that the root position E minor chord sounds out.
Donahue finds that the top strings are usually fairly in tune, but sets the B-string, fretted at the 12th, very slightly sharp of the harmonic; the top E-string fretted at the 12th and its harmonic should be spot on.
On the low E and A-string saddle, Jerry sets the A in tune - fretted at the 12th and the harmonic. Again, he finds the difference here is usually minimal - and he regularly flattens the low E very slightly anyway.

eieiobro: the doing intonation i noe... the part when the saddles are all close to the end of the bridge is a no good (tat i noe oso hahahaa)... hahha
its too close now till i cant screw anymore and when fret 12th fret (any strings), its 30cents sharp. but open string n harmonics on 12th are good
ok i almost giving up. selling it away...

boon: what size is your saddle? i got spare new goto brass steel coated saddle...
see if can fit? if u want to experiment can t-loan u first?? maybe can improve the problem???
