Project Guitar Appreciation

I am also looking for custom decal too. I heard that it can be DIY with some kinda decal paper but I dunno where to get it. I'm in the process of refinishing my guitar with some good tips from bro obzervr and parts from Standard Value. I hope it turn out nicely.

For transfer papers, you may want to try inkjet transfer papers that are used for T-Shirts and Mugs. Not waterslide I think. May need to use heat but for custom decals, it may be worth the trouble. Not suitable for copying bigname decals as inkjet quality may give it away. Not very sure on this one but I've used these transfer papers for work related projects.

Here is a demo of this guitar installed with a set of Mighty Mite Hot Rails. This was a quick grab video thus not for open mic. The intonation on G string on the guitar is slightly out. Comments welcome anyway. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3kZdf0npHk

Bumping this thread up....

This piece was inspired by Gudang Garam Signature Menthol...

finally had some time to apply the decal on my strat headstock.

it was a pretty easy and straight forward process.

sprayed on 3 coats of clear over the course of 2hrs and left it to dry.
looks pretty fine. Will sand and add more layers next week!!

BEFORE AND AFTER.

Hi Bro,

do you think that your guitar neck( MIK samick) able to fit in a strat body?
do share your experiences thank you
i have a samick neck MIK lying somewhere

had been trying to sell off this tele copy for awhile, but decided to keep and mod it after some advice from a fellow softie cum modder, for those who had enquire b4 on my sale, the guitar wood is basswood and not plywood as some says... routing had been done for a hum @ the bridge. other changes are the neck, knobs, bridge...

obzervr: thanks! there's a couple of flaws though... it does sound btr with humbuckers. sound good with distortion to me..thanks for your advice!! its curently with a stock hum from a mij les paul, planning to switch it to something else when i not so cash tight...and maybe a route for a hum for the neck as well! haha!

Godspeed: sorry...dont think i be letting go of this tele...spend a lot to do up this tele which is something i had always wanted in mind..there's a sense of satisfaction when you do up wat u want...

now i'm getting into teles with large headstock necks!! :) hopefully more projects to come...

Symphony brand (yes I was so intrigued I went to check his threads on selling the tele last time)..
So what exactly did you do to it since you've decided to keep it?

godspeed: yup, it's a symphony brand, but it's made of basswood n not plywood like some of their guitars. u really search my threads!! haha guess its hard to find a tele body of this finish?? changes i've done is a route for humbucker at the bridge, change a new bridge to accomdate the hum. pu, fit in a new neck, redo all the wiring and change of knobs..nothing much had been done to the body other than the routing. nw searching for a new pickguard...

edder: my apologies for the large pics..forget to downsize them.... :) will do that for my next post.
