Hi everyone,

I just want to check the price of the standard and custom. Anyone knows how much it cost for brand new or second hand? Thanks

blackwood sells second hand and they got a few more in their shop... quite cheap though.. 2.4k for standard.. i heard still can nego.

Just my opinion but I would NEVER buy a LP from Swee Lee. They are all overpriced, even after 'discount' and every single one of those models in Bras Basah is a lemon. They offered to 'discount' the best playing one (IMO) from >6k back to around 5k and the fretboard binding wasn't even lined up with the neck by a good 1-2 mm.

If you want to buy new, get a flight to Bangkok and go to the distributor there. All good guitars and after discount and VAT refund you would be well ahead of buying here (more than a grand better off) As an example, they have a beautiful wine red standard in the showroom at 90000baht less 10% discount is 81000 baht lesss 7% (5670) VAT refund so the total is 75330 baht or SGD equivalent of about $3200. Even with your travel expenses factored in you are still a long way ahead!

If you want to buy 2nd hand then yeah, Blackwood are tops......

Just get Brendon to ship it in for you. His prices are fantastic.

Contact him at http://www.bgwguitars.com/index.html

Otherwise, get it from blackwood, or reputable dealers on soft who can ship in stuff for you on soft.

Notably Hub4thailand/Ep.tjan.

IMO all other shops are overpriced. Sweelee leads the pack

These are for brand new stuff.

2nd hand stuff can find on soft.

Really? I got a great deal from them for my Slash Goldtop. So good I couldn't say no.

im a newbie and i dont intend to get a brand new gibson maybe a 2nd hand one but im just curious about the prices

About getting a gibson...

Firstly, it's expensive...

Secondly, you're a student and if you get to perform in school, you need to leave your guitar somewhere. and you will be damn scared that it will be stolen right?

Thirdly, if you want a gibson because of the brand name, your savings will all be gone and you might regret after getting it... as you may not be able to get any more guitars later this year.. when you start to GAS.

Fourthly, there're some quite okay alternatives.

Fifthly, (from my view), a lot of people tend to judge you using your guitar. They will be like you play a gibson and play like a newbie.. and things like that.. You can don't care but will you not be affected by it, at least 0.00001% right?

Sixthly, are you serious on playing guitar? Because a student's income is very low and if you were to spend your 2/3 years savings on a gibson and if you lose your interest, how?
