Just wanna ask, what equipment is necessary to practice bass using earphones. If i plug my bass into my mixer and monitor from there, the sound is very flat and uninspiring. Is there a box which can simulate an amp for practicing with headphones, perhaps cheaper than the bass pod...

actually mixer and earphones are enough what. at most just hook up some effects pedals and a preamp to the bass before going into the mixer.
u can consider a sansamp bass driver pedal, or the hartke bass attack. both can be powered via phantom power.
on a personal note, i plug my bass into my soundcard and practice via earphones, and i get such a fat in-your-face sound that is hard to replicate on an amp.
