PP2+ woes

each outlet of the pp2 supposed to be isolated supply, if connecting a dc chain, it will be defeating the purpose of the isolated output.
Since each outlet of the pp2 has its own limitation of how much current it allows for each pedal, by connecting a dc chain, you be trying to share this limit among the various pedals, not exactly a good idea and who knows, might just caused damage.
If not enough outlet, just use a one spot for the additional pedals, last thing wanna, is to spoil the pp2...

SherT: I got my PP2+ from ebenex. Not sure if they have any left, as I had the impression that most were actually reserved.
Shredcow: I daisy chained mostly drive pedals - OM labs OD, BD2, Crunchbox, Teese Comp, Phase 90, a tuner and RMC2 Wah.
I pretty much used up all the outlets on the pp2 already, so i had no choice but to daisy chain. i used the isolated outlets for other stuff like modulation and delay, in my bid to isolate the noise generated...

Try using the higher mA outlets.
Also, you can mix and match with modulation.
Right now - you have a whole bunch of dirt pedals together, that can result in additional noise. You could have like... 1 x chorus and 1 x dirt. 1 x phaser and 1 x dirt. etc etc.

before you do anything else, try using the daisy chain to 1 pedal, turn it on.
does it power up? Yes then good, else, there's something wrong with the daisy chain.
Play some standard riff. Try and memorise how it sounds.
Then plug another pedal, turn it on.
Does it power up? Yes then good, else, there's something wrong with the daisy chain or there's not enough juice already.
Play some standard riff. On the first pedal. Does it sound like normal? Play the second pedal. Try and memorise how it sounds.
Repeat systematically until you find the culprit.

thanks for the advice, edder - i did exactly what you said.
i figured out that the daisy chain was the one wth the problem as i've plugged into the one spot and it still failed. however, after trying for an hour i finally got the daisy chain to work from the pp2+ though - it appears that i need to place some pressure (and angle) the plugs otherwise it wouldn't provide power: i think the plugs are probably faulty...
strange that daisy chain should fail though, its new!

nothing new my friend. daisy chains while very useful are not exactly the most reliable.
sorry to hijack this thread, but my pp2 (not plus) is giving me problems. it won't provide power from either of the line6 modeler-intended sockets (5 and 6). i tried switching the cables around, changing cables, trying different pedals, etc, but it just won't seem to put out power for anything. i'm at a bit of a loss because i need 7 output sockets, the ac output, and a daisy chain to power my board. any ideas?

jon, the PP2 might still be under warranty. you might want to try emailing John Aycock - john@voodoolab.com - they have a good customer support team in general and i've found him to be among the most helpful ones there.
on a side note, Voodoo Labs sell power cables - i bought a couple that split power to 2 barrel heads to power 2 pedals. on my new pp2+, that cable doesn't seem to work from the 5 and 6 outlets, but works fine on the other ones. or maybe it's directional and the barrels are dedicated out and in (namely the barrel ends aren't the same?). I just thought it was a bit strange.
