plucking strings

yeah when u use a pick, do u use yr other fingers tat are not holding the pick to pluck the strings as well? i saw quite a few pp doing tat on a vid. wat is tat call? saw them using both pick and other fingers to play solos

i know tommy emmanuel does it... but his is thumb pick + 3 to 4 fingers...

for normal picks its the pick + 3 other fingers... its quite hard acutually cuz it very different when u use ur pinky to play...

best for this method is thumb pick + index,mid,ring finger

it's called hybrid picking. the difficulty of this technique though, is to try and even out the pick and the finger dynamics/volume (unless you intend on the contrast on different sections, which will make it easier.)

wa? then wats the tactic in playing classical guitar called? using all fingers and thumb? why dun they use this classical way? isnt it faster? since using more fingers? does the classical guitar way uses all 5 fingers? or they dun use pink? or they do? hmm, does anyway do tat in electric? i feel like using tat tactic?

classical guitarists use all fingers only. I dunno whether the technique has a name or not. But there are some things picks can do better than fingers for sure.

A pick goes faster than fingers unless you are playing chordal arrangements.

And a pick sounds different than fingers.

yeah using a pick has a greater attack than using fingers, because it's a harder surface than your fingerpads and hence produces a louder sound when it strikes the strings.
