P phoenix New member Feb 8, 2007 #1 Hi, am thinking of changing pickups on my squire to get a more "gibson/epiphone LP tone". I realised that they have a bass-ier sound. Considering that, which pickups would be good? Thanks!

S ShredCow New member Feb 8, 2007 #2 You want a fatter, darker tone? What is your pickup config? HSS?
edder New member Feb 8, 2007 #3 Assuming you're having a SSS configuration. Get a set of Duncans from Davis. They have a 3 pickup set which is Lil59 neck, Dunno what model single middle and a JB Jr Bridge. Not exactly Gibson but enough CHUGGA with minimal modification.

S ShredCow New member Feb 8, 2007 #6 +1 to gsonique... You can fake the vibe though. Getting hotter wound humbuckers, and those that are fat sounding. E.g. HAS Sound Hellion. But most of the time... a fake remains a fake and can't go beyond that.
