thats awesome....the older lps standards also used to come with that, until gibson decided to cut corners... an ebony fretboard is at least 20 times more expensive to make compared to a rosewood one, fyi............

Now they only have it with custom shop and the alphine white studio models...what is gibson thinking when you can be paying as much as 5k for their standards? shouldnt they at least offer an ebony fingerboard option?

Quick question, do you guys think the "JESLYN" looks fine, or should I move it to the machine heads? and align it with the machine heads too? (where my finger is in the 2nd pic)

i agree with u fully. lets not talk abt costs of ebony fretboards or how they sound at the moment. i personally feel they look stunning on certain guitars, and they feel much better than rosewood. (i like maple best). i have friends that choose guitars just because of it has an ebony fretboard. i'm not a big fan of the standards because i do not like the burstbuckers. and i also do feel they are overpriced.

so, what gets me wondering is, why do gibson fit an ebony fretboard onto a lower end model when they do not on the standards which can cost twice as much. if they can do so to a lower end model, they definitely should give the option of ebony fretboard on the standards. and like i said, i know ppl that love a certain guitar just because of the ebony fretboard. i'm pretty sure if gibson fitted ebony fretboards on standards, they might get even better reception

OHH def EBONY FTW, after playing on my nuno n4, which comes with a ebony fretboard, rosewood just pales in comprison.

no more rosewood for me! it's just maple and ebony frm now on! :D
