and Itachi, I'm not an owner of a Rosewood fingerboard, but I do remember something about Lemon oil and regular care/conditioning of rosewood fingerboards...Do you play/live in an air-con envirionment?

Rosewood is an open-grained wood, hence over time the pores will dry out. Lemon oil returns the moisture to the wood, usually dry pores will be visible by whitish-brown spots that marr the dark and lustrous look of rosewood :D
If your fingerboard looks dark and doesn't have the spots, chances are you don't need to oil it with lemon oil. Also, it is not advisable to oil it often, around 4-5 times a year is sufficient.

i'm reiterating what i've said before- please read advices regarding the frequency of lemon oil application on rosewood fretboards liberally, especially from players in temperate countries. the condition in these places are such that their fretboard loses inherent moisture less easily than the guitars here. if your fretboard is dry, attend to it accordingly, even if it means doing it for the 20th time. it's a rather extreme example but i hope you get the point.

Hmm, I oil my fretboard about once per 2 months, after observing that the pores don't really dry out every month, they usually start becoming visible after the 2nd month. For me, 6 times annually is the magic number :D

no...i dun play in air-con environment...i just apply fretborad conditioner for rosewood 2 weeks ago...but its look the same..hmm...

Hmmm not too sure. But I'm pretty sure it can be solved. Try applying abit more sparingly and see if it helps. If not, not much is gonna happen if you apply any more.

sometimes, fretboard surfaces are scratched (possibly accidentally) by the player/ at the factory (especially for low-end guitars) to reveal a lighter hued surface. this can be mistaken for a dry surface.
