Performance advice

I'm doing an audition for Teachers Day concert performance on tuesday next week...its our first time performing to such a large crowd, after being a band for 2 years.

anyone has any good advice to offer? the teachers-in-charge heard our recording of 'Rock and Roll All Nite' and they like it very much.

Bottomline is have fun. You should have seen how my teacher's day audition went like.

First, it was done in the small music room.
Not that bad but then there was no mic.
Well, maybe can just sing loud.
Then there was only 1 (ONE) guitar amp.
K maybe we can use an acoustic for the other guitar.
Then there was no bass amp.
Well, maybe can use acoustic or something.
THEN, there was no freaking drumset!
The teacher said for the drums, you can bang the table.I felt like banging her head.
When I heard that, I turned to my band and said "let's go" and off we went.

I didn't think they deserved to have us play for them.

i'm most likely renting guitar amps frm outside..the teachers sae they can pay if not too expensive..

still, i feel like smashing a guitar leh. got cheap lousy guitars 4 sale not?

Walk around, move your body. Just don't stand still :lol: or, if you're bad, whack a beer b4 you audition. The slight high is enough to take the pressure away :lol: But i don't encourage it haha.

yeah..the part about showmanship...i've been trying to create KISS-style moves since im a huge fan of them..is it a good idea to make a fake guitar out of styrofoam then smash it?

Smashing the styrofoam, will be messy later on man. You might wanna think about the after show clean up hehe.

Eh, good idea man haha. Stick a party popper to the back of the guitar headstock, at the end of show, aim to audience and pull string! Haha!

nar, i was toking abt the realli realli big 1s about the size of a rifle, (last time i in ncc, dey gave me 1 of these to carry as a rifle, den pop it b4 marching off), realli cool, helluva lot of confetti comes out

the confetti thing sounds good...i try to ask if can use mild pyrotechnics..cos my bassist know hw to do these things..

Gotta be realistic, and be on the safe side. Pyro's not for messing around, best have professionals around when dealing with fire. I think the confetti popper would be good enough. Nobody will expect it. I think i'm gonna try it soon, just to see how it turns out
