PedalBoards Pedal Bags.

Hi mulyadi...i got a similar case from ranking...slightly larger...
eh ask you...where did you get your board cut? thanks in advance :D

dropped by ranking today - they have a pedal case for sale at 65. detachable too. just that it's a wee bit small, so i'm wondering whether to get that.

detachable?? mine is like a suitcase...cant remove the top...sadly

ooooo...nooo..haha...mine's not detachable too!...lol..

hmmm...don't remember where...but it was my friend who got it cut out for me..some hardware shop? i think you can get these boards at those furniture shops too...or get a shelf from ikea, and cut it out...or check out artfriends. yupz....

i'm nt entirely happy with my board though...the 'handle' i made to remove the board was out of velcro taped to the wood. This can get loose at times...yupz..still looking for a solution...and it's better to get industrial grade velcro..mine's the art ones, and they come out quite easily..yupz....

i'ma check out the detachable one...if got one similar in size..or bigger..the most i'll just buy a new one..and sell this one..=X

Hmm..You could drop by DIY fixSHop at Tampines. USed to be Spotlight. They changed it to DIY fixshop. The same building with Cash Converters and Challenger. Lots of great stuffs there. Bought Steel Wool There!! wohooo~!! :D

thanks for the input guys!

hopefully they open today...i'll go down and check it out :D

finally i can bring my pedals around...its sickening to bring 2 or 3 only...and not have the sound you want when you need...and be bloody worried about scratching the hell out of the pedals when walking around with them in the backpack.

oh btw mulyadi, i'm thinking of buying those kinda cabinet handles and screwing it on...maybe you'd like to try that...would take up valuable real estate on your board though. you'd probably be better off stapling the handle on with a staple gun or something.

woohoo..jekyll n hyde ultimate overdrive....awesome pedal yah.
i did one, similar to mulyadi, now thinking of doing another to accomodate a few more pedals...this time insted of using the felt cloth like material i'll juz paint the board and put the velcro on it insted.

Also got an idea to tilt the board to face the guitarist,so maybe screw on some rubber stoppers at the top of the board to get it to tilt. maybe install some handles too.

nice touch on using the case, i carry mine ard on some cheap 20 dollar bag. :D

dude..u think those case from ranking have one which can fit a line6 podxt live mulit effect? it will be cool n protective too to carry those kind of hard case..and is rankin the one at bras basah complex?? thankz

absolutely not. they're too small.

u might want to ring up luthermusic and ask about their padded bags thou. Which are for GT8, but might fit ur line6.

haha..its nice..but thing is, sometimes, it gets over hardcore..especially if you accidentally activate both channels...but gives me the sound i like..yeah...hehe..worth the cash. =X

yeahhh...i'm thinkin of installing handles...but thing is...space is a bit small...im still looking for a tremolo pedal too..so..haha..that's it man..

haha...i'd rather get a handle...=X but...yeah..or the most..get those knob-type from ikea? get one that looks quite good..

btw...anyone have any idea where to get those side linings? the aluminium type?

think that would be troublesome...i thought of doing this nice plywood pedal board with aluminium railings all round and handles, and angled like this...

but need things like a bandsaw and stuff to handle the shit. troublesome...and where do you even get the tools??

Got the pedalcase... :)

shouheng - for such a board u might want to find MrMisse and see if they're willing to do it.

anyway i went down davis, gc, sweelee, ranking, simlim tower today (yep that many places!) and bumped into siva, who was looking for a wah pedal. i bought the pedal case from ranking... details below:

----------------------

Brand: Road Ready? (I would assume no brand)
Dimensions: Approximately 37 * 23 * 7 cm (exterior)
Internal: 36 * 21.5 com

Looks: Like those old black camera cases with metal joints... except that the whole case is silverish metal. Purely cosmetic imo.

How does it hold the pedals: Via velcro. thou the boss pedals were clearly big in terms of height and the knobs were on the styrofoam, so u don't really need to velcro ur boss pedals.

How much can it fit: 3 pedals, 2 boss, 1 zoom pedal. putting 4 boss pedal isn't impossible i guess, but pretty overkill. (i prefer to put in a way in horizontal fashion rather than in a 2 * 2 matrix.) haven't tried. u get a bit more space at the top for putting ac adaptor, patch cables and some misc equipment.

Cool shit: The case is detachable. that means u can strip the top, plug ur ac adaptor and ur guitar/amp cables, and walla! u're good to go.

----------------------

take note thou: there's a design flaw in the case.. the rubber studs are on the TOP of the case instead of the bottom. nothing biggie really, just a little confusing to open the case inverted when u set up.

my sis is having her digital cam at China now, so no photos yet. Will take pics and maybe do a Gear Review on it when she's back. :D

Well, guys, I gave up on my DIY pedalboard and here's what I'm using now.

I don't bang my gear around and the velcro inside keeps the pedals from hitting each other. Plus, the thick top cover protects well enough for me.. Lighter than a pedalcase. ;)

hi guys...nice pedalboards you got there...i just bought the plywood and velcro...will be fixing up the pedalboard soon :D will post pics once its done...

finally completed my pedal board!! :D

some photos of my baby...

in the ranking case:

all suited up and ready to go:

Breakdown of the cost:

BoardsX2 total $6 from art friend
Wood glue to stick the 2 boards together $3.50
Black spray paint $5.80
Velcro (industrial strength) $16.90
Handles (69) from ikea $unknown...found them lying in the house.
Ranking case $70

so it adds up to around $100....and a whole lotta time sanding and spraying the boards and glueing and applying the velcro strips. not to mention SAWING the board to size...haha think i was kinda extra...use a big saw to saw a flimsy thin piece of plywood.

all the same...it was great fun...and a whole lotta satisfaction when done. [/img]

That's quite a bump.

The sling is not so good. Will tear over time if you carry heavy pedals. The carrying handle is alright.

The base is not wood, so is quite flexible. so have to pull the sides when carrying if not the pedals will fold onto each other.

dunno why nobody has recommended the Westfield bags from Sim Lim. I've been using one for about 3 months, and just did a series of about 12 gigs in a row with it (not including another half dozen or so rehearsals. It held up great. Pics below were taken on the last night, so the board was getting a little untidy by then... pack and unpack every day... got lazy in the end...
