Hey im thinking of getting some pedals.
i currently have a boss mt-2 and a jim dunlop gcb-95.
i am thinking of getting a second hand delay, and another distortion.
i wanna use the mt-2 as something like a boost maybe for solos.
so i was thinking maybe a standard ds-1.
or maybe even a tubescreamer
havent tried a tubescreamer before.
as for delays, i cant decide between a dd-3 ,digitech digidelay and a ibanez de-7.
suggestions please!
maybe even a chorus but i dont know alot about chorus pedals
heh thanks

haha ive only tried the hell babe.
i saw a bunch of them at luthers though.
how much is the tube overdrive and any comments on it?

do consider the visual sound , ultimate od. two pedals in one.
both are great pedals on their own.

its like a ts9 on one side... and a marshall cranked to bits on another.

jekyll&hyde? own it, love it :D can do heavy chugga also. versatile machine IMHO

j&h used to own it, loved it for a while, but soon tired of it.
Problem is the hyde side, there are 2 modes, 1st mode not enough crunch. 2nd mode the sound is too brittle. Sounds like a modded ds2 in a bad way. The original ds2 or ds1 would be gd. Thicken up the sound with a overdrive and compressor. Nice.

What u should get is a compressor pedal, thickens up the sound of ANY pedal that u currently have. Advisable to be used together with a noise suppresor.

A overdrive is essential in any setup i feel.

If u want a chorus and delay, the visual sound h20 is unbeatable sound wise. Sounds great but seriously lacking in features. Also its harder to dial in the exact delay that u might want. DD3 is great for this.

wo, was about to create similar thread.

Anyway im consider these few pedals are they good?

Digitech Screaming Blues
MXR distortion +
MXR super comp
Boss ds +1

Get what you NEED and according to your BUDGET. How much are you willing to fork out?

I don't understand the MT2 as booster concept. Its best as a standalone IMO.

The Ibanez DE7 is a pretty blind buy and it is inexpensive. Davis stocks the new Marshall Echohead pedals, at $160 brand new and with many modes, its a pretty good, poor man's DD6.

ah icic so mt-2's are best used as a stand alone?
but i heard mt-2's are quite lousy stock as someone else has posted on thie thread.
On the marshall echohead's, any one bought it yet?
care to share some opinions?
haha ty.

Ive only tried a milkbox before so i dont have a lot of knowledge on compressors.
Keep the comments coming!
thanks

For boosting, use a Tubscreamer or a boss sd1. DD3 has more of a hard sounding type of delays, de7 is more of a warm analogy sound, but do remember that de7 is also a echo cum delay pedal. theres someone selling the dd3 at 150 at luther ads. As for how chorus sounds like u can go boss or ibanez website to listen to their sound samples..If u are on a budget, hunt for these pedals at the second hand market.

i too own the Jekyll & Hyde

excellent pedal for a wide variety of OD/distortion tones

as for comments that the 'sharp' function in the Hyde section is too brittle, well it depends on what guitar and pickups u are using. its really solid with humbuckers, esp great with my LP since its warmer than say an RG with humbuckers (could be too sharp/edgy with RG).

if your're considering the tubescreamer, well then i suggesting u get digitech bad monkey, its quite transparent, great for boosting, quite transparent , its pretty much on par or even better than the tubescreamer. Go check out the sound samples on its website
