Pagans cd available at Roxy!

Wow, u guys are really up to speed and updated on these people's lives!! Anyway, I'm really happy about the current bands in the scene too. There's Stellarium, ATC, IADS, Lunar Node. Great times ahead!

Sexy Little Boy! I miss that song, man!!! where's my casette tape???

Anyone remembers Melt Fanzine? The brainchild of George & Robin? haha...

The band Mother used to be shoegaze in the early stages of New School Rock competition by BigO/Levi's. And before Astreal, there was Breed who used to be more of Curve/Medicine sounding type of indie noise. Then there was Noel in a band called Suchness, pretty indie noise as well. And does anyone here remembers James & Charlene of Clothespeg?

We had Don Bosco in the band Daze, which produced a radio hit Sexy Little Boy, complete with the early 90s low-fi analog MTV in chroma colors.

Ok, now i really sound like an aging youth!

that's awesome news! definitely gonna get myself a copy. the last time i watched them play was at the moods cafe a long, long time ago...but that's when they already changed their name to Starr. now all i need is black sun's "love you now" and i'm all set!

Hey asphalt, this might interest you. Just stumbled upon it: http://www.myspace.com/stillrest

I think Pauline of Sideshow Judy is back in town. She had this new electro act Holidays On Saturday for a while and I heard from some friends that the singer from the Sugarflies (can't remember her name) is now based in Boston, doing film and video stuff. No longer playing music.

and still is my favorite local band of all time. i think i might have the complete cassette collection which includes the split with the dongs. haha. oh and the name of the singer from the sugarflies is june koh.:)

Also Nunsex was teh secks! their WTC gig was a like a ritual with hooded fellas doing various poses! Got one girl in the crowd kena posessed somemore! Blackest of the blackerest metale!

Heard about that "posession". Missed that WTC gig and my brother was telling me about it. Azmi (correct name?) reminds me of much of Farrell+Navarro of Jane's Addiction. My school mate (91-92?) was on-off cover as their bassist... We talked a lot about MBV/ride/curve, he was really into it!

BTW, am looking for a copy(or mp3) of Nunsex cassette demo, Beatnik if anyone has, i borrowed it and was never seen again, sigh.....

I've been looking for that too. Even Salleh, their drummer don't have a copy! Hiissshhhh...

Nunsex..... then there was Rocket Scientists.... and there was that band Drill who used a loudhailer and handheld drill during their gigs at WTC?

I remembered this other band, made up of students from American School, etc... they were called STILL. Had 2 demo tapes out, awesome lyrics. Very much influenced by Bad Religion, Joy Division, Fugazi (ahh... Bukit Batok CC gig).

Rocket Scientists reminds me very much of Godflesh/Broadrick... The singer even have his mic into a Boss DD3 for the delay effects! I remember another "industrial" project collab band, Soulfire w/Suhaimi of Stompin' Ground.

I know i still have one of STILL's cassettes somewhere. I was lucky to catch Fugazi at Fire disco the second time around! NS made me miss that 1st one...

90s was definitely one of the best periods. With the Big O 1-4 series! And the all-night-all-day Substation gig/festival. I guess those of us in the 35++ age group will remember those days... Not saying the current "scene" is not as good though...

Dude, transfer them into mp3s!!! I'll like to have an archive copy! Great band!

yes Pagans, is quite good and v funny hehehe but i always thought The Mother were the best 'shoegaze' band. There 2 songs on New School Rock still kill me after all these years...trance freekin rock maaaan

ah gentlyfall....drowning in a cesspool of love...blew me away. does anyone remember edgars fault? i thought that was brilliant!

to fluxus...thanks for the info...i will quickly head down to try my luck at roxy...hope they still have some pagans left!

a random question: anybody knows what are the 2 hidden tracks on the new school rock compilation IV? the ones after the songs by the ossuary. which bands did them? they are awesome...!!

hahaha i have some of the mp3s from the late 90s, inc sexy little boy and all the remixes. if everyone is ok, i shall upload at an unidentified location.

i remember them. They were on tv round 91/92 on some local show and play songs from their album. Heh, wanted to get their album, but since i was skinny and uncool then, not knowing anywhere outside my neighbourhood. Didnt managed to even see or hear anything bout the album they had

Edgar's Fault, i still have that CD. Ang Moh singer very much influenced by Pink Floyd while their guitarist with the black Les Paul rock it out like hair metal!

Notable songs like "Dead Roses" and that radio ballad!

errr.. i wasnt refering to literally skinny=uncool. Focus was on the amount of weight i gained over years compared to when i was skinny and just gotten introduced to local bands music, as a clueless 13years old kiddo

wow thanks man! local stuff like this should be shared around...keeps the spirit alive otherwise they would all just fade off and be forgotten.

i just went roxy today and got myself a copy of the pagans....if any of you guys still intend to get a slice of history...better hurry cos seah says he has about 3-4 copies left.

and patheintheraindropmoe..i have an extra copy of edgars fault that i dont mind giving away....only catch is you gotta pay for postage or collect it from me at my convenience. I got it from jurong east (the shop that sells lots of rock and metal bands) for real cheap... was shocked to find edgars fault there so i decided to pick it up and maybe pass it onto someone who might appreciate it. its in BRAND NEW condition.
