Package from USA not yet arrived

Hi all, I ordered a guitar neck from the USA and I paid by Paypal but until now, I still have not received the package. It was shipped via USPS Priority Mail International and according to their tracking system, it left the USA on the 24th May. Till now, there were no further updates on the status. So its been 3-4 weeks. I'm kinda worried that it may somehow get lost. I don't remember waiting that long for a package from the USA.

I emailed the seller and he told me to contact the local post office and customs here and that sometimes, packages might take longer than expected. I doubt the local post office can help and my total cost value does not exceed $400, so it can't be detained at customs.

I wonder if any of u guys ran into a problem like mine. I can only hope and wait. Worse come to worse, may have to claim a refund if it is confirmed lost.

Shit like that happens.. since its a registered mail, insurance should be provided by USPS if I'm not wrong. I've shipped in quite a few stuff using USPS Priority so far no problem. Only thing is that sometimes for some shipments they don't bother to update the tracking no. My longest shipment I waited for about 15 days, plus another 1 week cause the seller took so long to ship the item. Hope you get your stuff soon man!

dudelove: U used Priority Mail Intl or Express Mail Svc? I should have used EMS in the 1st place cos when I shipped in my guitar body using EMS, I got it within the same week tat they shipped.

I hope it doesn't get lost

I hope there's a shipping insurance in that purchase or they can refuse to give you a refund coz its not thier problem either. Sometimes oversea purchases can take longer than expected, so maybe give it a few more days or so.

Priority Mail has insurance. I would never order stuff from the USA w/o insurance, especially for the expensive items.

I don't think you need to worry until the one month mark is reached. I've stuff that took 5 weeks to arrive from the States.

Not guitar stuff but some rare Japanese plush, took me 2 months to get it. It was worth the wait! So if 2 months and it isn't here, then panic...

According to PMI, mail should be delivered within 6-10 days. 1st time I have to wait for a very long time for a package to arrive and its far exceeding the 6-10 days timeframe.

I dont think calling Singpost and S'pore Customs would be much of a help,right?

I've ordered stuff via USPS priority mail international, both through established shops and individuals from classifieds, and there's always been no problem. Good luck getting your stuff!

EDIT: The time frame is rarely adhered to, it usually takes much longer after you factor in days where the post offices don't operate. Although I can't speak for your case, because it HAS been quite some time. But calling Singpost wouldn't really help, they're basically clueless until your package arrives on their end, and if Customs is detaining it you should receive a letter to go down to the post office to collect it personally after paying taxes.

Or at least can you get some sort of a reference number assigned to the package?

Because if you do you can call us SG customs/singpost to check.
Its not exactly "tracking", its more like checking whether its here or not...

Yes, packages do get stopped by the customs every now and then.
whether 400 bucks or not...

yea u can call singpost to check if it even arrived at all, they checked for me over a bunch of t-shirts...dont see why they wont check for you since u have tracking no.

Yes, don't worry too much yet. I have ordered tonnes of guitar stuff and some other stuff (over a hundred items) from the US and they always arrive safely. Some took longer than usual but they arrived eventually. If you really want to, call Singpost and see if they can help in anyway. The only thing I remember paying taxes for was for a Boss ME50.

I always choose USPS international express so it arrives in a week or less most of the time. For really expensive items, i'll use FedEx as it gives me on the spot updates on where my package is exactly. It'll cost a lot more though, but it gives me ease of mind. Hope your package arrives soon. Keep us updated :mrgreen:

Once, my package came very very late. Usually it'd take about 3-4weeks.
But it's already the 4th week and I still have not gotten my package.
Tracked it and it said "delivered".
So I asked the US company and they apologies like mad and said they will send it again.

8 weeks later, I received 2 packages of the same item. And I only paid once. Hahahahaha

I called up Singpost and they say item hasn't reached here and when I called Customs, line is busy, left my no with them since morning, until now, no call. Will call them again soon.
