guys, i need a little help with some decision making, if ya'll had to choose say three within this lot of od's, for full scale low gain to higher gain, mixed, which would they be and why,

-Xotic BB Preamp
-Fulltone OCD
-Banzai Fireball 3
-Crowther Audio Hotcake
-Hermida Audio Mosferatu
-Analogman TS808
-Maxon OD808
-Gaspedals Carb
-Marshall Drivemaster*vintage*
-T-Rex Moller

think thats it, im having issues
 
i would honestly say....go with Sahasrara OD. Thats just one od thats insane. Anyway to keep it relative, id say Fulltone OCD or Xotic BB Preamp. Sounds decent at a indecent price so why not. :D HAHA no offense
 
currently, i'm also looking at the
bb preamp
sahasrara od and the
crowther hotcake..

gotta try all 3!
how come fulltone FD2 mosfet isnt in your list? just wondering.
 
wah thanks for the support guys.... I'm way behind in production but will be working damn hard for the next few days to clear orders.

Bro... You need to match the pedals with your guitar, amp, type of music, own style of playing and personal preference. With your own good ears, you would probably know better than any of us.

Take control and decide your own destiny! 8)

the fulltone fd i have tried ad i guess didnt like it, now the sahassara im still sadly yet to try, be looking for Freakyfir sooon!! i wanna try it, hmmm trying them all out over and over n i cant decide!, well whichever i dont choose will probably be selling, set on OCD now two more.....

It would depend a lot on what kind of amp you have...firstly whether you are playing thru a tube amp or through a solid state amp...what kinda tube amp?? for eg. I tried the eternity through a marshall..absolutely hated it...through a blackface style amp or fender amp....it is amazing...

you can actually try the direct drive AND ltd to cover some of ur needs.....

I found the BB preamp to work well with certain types of amps and suck through others....so you should try it out.....the ocd i think is a nice pedal....not too picky about amps.....

I would say get the Direct drive, the Ltd and...the top fuel...very nice distortion pedal!!(slightly fuzzy)

From your list though, I personally don't like the OCD and think that it's overrated. The Hotcake is good if you're using a Vox-ish amp.

i mentioned the Direct Drive only because it works well with tube/ SS amps... yes, it pays to consider your amp with regards to the pedal you are acquiring.
 
totally +1 to the barber dd, its my primary od since dunno when. might i suggest using a dd stacked with another od, like ocd/Sahasrara.

eh bro tell me when you wanna come over la. let u try the sahasrara. or maybe we'll jam one of these days, but u know me lah i'm not so pro :\

ahmen ... this is the bomb.. ive been depending on this pedal for almost 2yrs now. I use a catalina bread chilli piccosso to boost it for solos. I use it for higher gain stuff... great marshall sound. Esp with a lespaul.

lower gain i use my ts808 (keeley) and analogman OD-9Maxon for different settings
(havent found a way to stack these , they dun seem to like each other)

smooth OD tones - i use the rodenbergn GAS828 - its two channels ("high gain 909 mode" and "ts808 low gain mode")
give me a very smooth singing OD... transparent as well... its probably my only OD pedal that responds well to my volume knob. However i feel this pedal works best with singlecoil type pickups.

really? thats very interesting.....Ive tried with tube amps only so I cannot comment on their usage with SS amps....but I do believe Dave Barber designed them with tube amps in mind...lotsa discussion on the barber related forums on this topic...and the general consensus was that people should own a tube amp before owning the DD.

My pedals kinda depend on me to be switched on and later abused...they are like 'not alive' ....like thingy :D

Maybe you can mention what guitar, amp, style you're playing. I think otherwise it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.
 
If you are looking for dynamic stuff, I wouldn't associate "touch sensitivity" with a TS circuit... TS type stuff = compression and its nice with your single coils, utter mud with humbuckers, no open grind or harmonic-interplay.
