OM: Return To Paradise.

Bro this is some good shit right here.

Damn nice stuff man, probably one of my most fave compositions I've heard, not only on soft but on the web.

I loved the playing and the tone, very nice low gain, and very warm. Your delay setting was right on, not too much, just enough to give it the dreamy sort of ambience.

I liked the theme, and the acoustic break in the middle really threw me off.

I also liked the fact that you didn't over play and make it into a shredfest.

Very nice emotive playing man.

You didn't waste a single note.

I'm listening to it for the 3rd time in a row now and counting.

The only bad thing about it...

I wish I could come up with something like this on my own :P

Thanks for sharing man!

Christopher.

Hey Chris,

Thanks for the nice words. Finishing the piece reminded of a song by Lee Ritenour and Steve Lukather, the 'trade-off' between Steve's electric and Lee's classical guitar. Something of that kind of feel.

The delay is definitely too strong. Wish I had changed that setting.

Strangely, I had the Maldives in mind when I played this, and was thinking of a couple basking romantically in the sunset...so I made a point to used sparsely placed notes.

Man, I'm dying for a vacation!

Btw, it's no acoustic guitar! It's an effect from the GT-6! Got you fooled there, didn't I? Haha!

Dude, its a bomb with the morning refreshment. The mood and enviroment u created was on neat skills and innovative.

Keep it up,

*shrugs*
I was nice to him, actually spending an hour or so, demo-ing the TRI AC and MIJ DS1 to him on MSN audio. And this is what he would do in "return". I guess its human nature.

In anycase, I thought you had a very Satriani-ish vibe to it and the arrangement is similiar to his, theme A, Jam, return to theme A.

The acoustic sim you were using could do with a touch more body though, it sounded very "simulation" to me... :P Granted, its just a simulation.

I think you have a very nice feel... its a good touch you have there. Perhaps... I mean, well, since OM posts are all about commenting/critiques and stuff... perhaps maybe you would like to try your hand at something out of the ordinary you use to do? For fun... I would love to hear you do funk, seriously. This isn't some sort of "challenge" btw. just a request... because of the touch you have, I wonder how it will mix with funk...

agreed - remembering an OM he did a while back - had a jazzy-bluesy vibe to it. funk would be a natural. eh dude, another good 1 in 'return to paradise'.

Well I hope everyone can be friends. since SOFT means the sound of friends together...right?

:D

I can try funk. Not my forte though! Thanks fer yer comments!

Thanks, Paulo...are you still playing at Tras Street? Would like to see you there in the near future when I make the time.

yup still am there [2230hrs onwards] - off on wed and sun nites for now. drop by for a live dose of old skool rock, whenever free.

Nice tune :)

IMO, I do agree the delay's a tat too much...Some of the nice following phrases had been "crossed over" by the decay of the delay from the previous phrases.

btw, did you record direct from the GT?

Cheers.
