or worst case scenario, i buy wraps from precisiondrums and wrap this baby up myself..:D

Marc my Brother - be prepare - it's alot of work here - but again that's enjoying your hobby.

Your kit is a mixture of brands - so your decision to wrap it is - Good as the kit will look better with Uniform-Wraps.

I heard from my frined who did it - and I saw the Kit that he re-wrap - Tearing the Original Wrap is not of a problem....after you tear it - the shell will not be smooth - you see many lines - because some wood will come out - as it is made of plys of wood...Here if you want and willing to spend the time - you must smoothen it - by sanding it before you put the New-Wrap..if not also can still - because after wrapping nobody can see inside...you decide.,,IMPORTANT - do not damage the BEARING-EDGE as you would need to cut the Wraps using a sharp-knife after applying the glue & wrap when dry here....The Wraps don't come in your exact toms measurements.

When after you ReWrap it - you must change all the Lugs also to same kind of lugs (it looks better) or else no point re-wrapping correct.....get a drill - drill from inside out from the shell to put new lugs - be careful here - make sure it's even.....because you have different brands of shell now - the Lugs are different also - holes position is different - changing all the lugs means - some holes can use---some holes not in same position - look into this too.

My friend told me - it took him weeks to do it - not a few days...be patient - then you will be very satisfied with your work at end of day......good Luck and cheers !

PS: - To make it looks even better - think about placing a BRAND-LOGO on each of your shell (need holes also to put the logo) - You can put-up any Brands here - if you know how to get the Logo (metal form) done....then your kit looks beautiful now - and you have a custom one that you like....special mah.

Veneer stick to veneer - better I think - put veneer and apply Laquer on top - I really dunno if it's a good idea brothet...must check it out yourself 1st before doing it.

Lugs & Wraps - I think will cost you around S$400 to 500 - how much is it actually Bro?

I've ever wrapped my ex-RT with these. Peel off the black formica, sand it cood and apply. The shop where I bought the wraps at Suntec has long gone. Don't know where it went to.

One Day I was walking down the isle of Suntec Shopping, then I saw this DIY shop. Want to buy some stuff to fix things at my work place.
Then I saw these beautiful out of this world wrap. They got those, golf-grass looking, those sparkling retro kind too. But I grabbed the old SBS bus floor looking ones. Itchy fingers, then I did it on my snare 1st. It looks cool. Then I moved on to all the drums. These things very easy to apply on.
Try to find in those DIY store la. Sure have one.

RD: I sold off the RT already la. Dirt cheap some more. I think I've posted it out on SOFT before.

weckl-x: Yup I saw those Lars snare before I jumped onto the project, and I tried to some what imitate the snare, but the diamond plates design are different. I tried to find those diamond plate designs but did not managed to find one.

DH: Ya it's true. If the toms are black it is even nicer. But I let my fingers have much more impulse than my head. I tore the black formica on my RT toms and go ahead with the wraps.

Marc: Sure have one la, these wraps, it's just that you gotta find em.

Cheng Kui!! HI-FIVE !!!

Ok... here it is... just like what MP said... can get these wraps from DIY shop... I did not remove the veneer but wrap around it... the result was the kit has more depth due to the increase thickness of the shell... this kit is 22 years old... 8)
