DTXtreme

Yup. The basic kit have 3 more cable inputs. So i have to order the extra kit. But unfortunately the drumset already discontinued. So i have to use the floor tom of the DTXtreme 2 to fill the slot. Hehehe... It works fine...

hehe nash handsome fella sia 8)

eh how much did u pay for that throne ah? that's the tama one or first throne issit.. the super bloody ex throne? i saw a similar tama throne like urs, without the decals behind for like $250. heart pain leh... can't bring myself to fork out $250 for a throne when I can use $250 for more cymbals!

btw is it just me, or is swee lee stocking lesser mainstream cymbals now and more "exotic" cymbals like the Bozzio signature splashes and wierd O zone rides? i made a very disappointing trip down to swee lee last week in the hopes of picking up a nice HH splash. to my dismay they only had B8, pro and xs20 splashes. the only HHX splash they had was 12" and it felt more like a mini crash to me :(

sorry, OT already!

back to kits.. nash i love your electric kit, mind telling us how much u spent on total for your kit? i'm looking at investing in an electric kit because im gonna live in hostel next yr when i start uni, so probably will need more than my practice pad because i will be damn GIAN to drum!

DTXtreme

Dear Bro alvyn,
In the year 2000, the set was priced ranged at $5300 - $5500 (for the basic set). I bought the set in April 2003 for $3500 for the basic set (w/o the drum throne and the double pedal) which was 6 mths before it was discontinued. The double pedal was $400. The drum throne i bought may 06 at $200. The extension kit i can't price it cuz i have lost the receipt. estimated about $1000. Roughly... dats the figure... but i don't know the DTXtreme2 pricing... U have to ask Yamaha... Good luck...

Re: DTXtreme

wah u paid like twice the amount man. i made a trip down to yamaha just last night... they've got one kit that's 3k+. not too shabby actually, but i'm not digging the very constant kind off sound on all the pads.

whoa bro u really blew a small fortune on ur kit man. 8O how do u like the response on the pads for ur kit?

DTXtreme

hi Bro alvyn,
Ever since I first saw the DTXtreme @ Yamaha MusicPlaza in 2000, it grabbed my attention and I can't really sleep thinking about the price... Why so expensive... i saved up focusing about the drumset. But when it dropped to $3500... I gave a big smile... hehehehe. but the problem here is... it discontinued 6mths after i bought it... and the best thing is even the extension kit hardly to find until i have to email to Japan Yamaha asking to import if they have stock.. Thats the reason why one of my floor tom was different from the rest. taken from DTXTreme 2. But i really love the sound produced by DTXtreme. No need to me to tune the drumset. Just plug n play. Of cuz it cannot be exactly be the same respond to the original drumset. As long as its electronic.. sure there will be differences with the original drum. I wish too to have a normal drumset, but we live in HDB flat makes us difficult to practice with the nomal drumset. I think the DTXtreme 2 was made in Indonesia. But the first DTXTreme was made in Japan.
