Wow is your friend influenced very heavily by Carter Beauford? That's a lovely and very functional setup. Specs please?

Oh yeah he is.... very much into Carter Beauford.

Left handed drummer.... ride on the left....

Specs ah?.... I try ok... vaguely remember....

Drums: Yamaha Stage Custom Cherry Red. This is the Japan model before it is made in Indonesia. Lovely tone on the toms... 10", 12", 13", and 16" floor tom.

Zildjian A custom crash 18" and 15" (this one I'm not too sure)

18" K crash

13" New Beat Hi-Hat (not too sure also)

Stationary Hi-Hat.. This one I also not too sure.. hahaha.. I know how to play only...

4 A custom Splash. Various sizes.. can see the in the pic lah

Max Stax

DW double Pedal... should be 5200 or 7200 series

Zildjian Ping Ride (sweet sound... like it so much)

Zildjian K swish ride (now.. this is the ultimate... nice lovely 'ting' ultra sweetness!!!)

Paiste China... forgot what model.. didn't like the sound

All hardwares by Yamaha and DW.

LP Tambourine

LP Ridge Rider (??) cowbell

Evans Head.

In the pic.. I think it's a Carlos 14" snare if I'm not wrong.

And Aux snare is a smaller one.

The thing is... I'm not really sure of what things he had. He keep on changing and stuff.

To my friend.... If you are reading this.... please lah... add on.. It's your stuff... you should know better.

Oh yeah.... this foto was taken way back in 2003. But I'm sure most of the stuff is still there.

its a k dark thin crash... haven't had the chance to try it in a band situation yet as i just got it, but so far imo its a very complex crash. the overtones are very different from the a custom crash i have. the decay is pretty long too for a thin crash. the sound u get when you do a shimmer on it is outstanding.

i'd recommend the crash to anybody who needs an accent cymbal, or who needs a crash that sounds good at a lower level.

a custom is more for a rock situation. k customs are suited for more of a jazz context. however is the cymbal bright? like really bright?

hey alvyn... very nice kit u got therewe have similar setup but i use 12" and 16" toms instead of 10" and 14". Im planning to buy A custom and i already have 18" K Custom. How does those two cymbal of yours blend? Is it blend nicely?

nope its not THAT bright. i don't really think its confined only to jazz context. imo, they can be used for softer rock applications as well because its so responsive...

yup but it doesnt bag a punch for rock music. doesnt have that energy that a z cusotm or something would have. much warmer, just the right amount for jazz.

its coloured due to the reflection of the bag beside it.

haha yah cuz i put my kit in my store room.. new HDB flat has this bomb shelter thingy. haha EXCELLENT place to put a small drumset. i'm actually thinking of getting acoustic foam to pad the door and a bit of the wall to make it even more "UP" haha!

personally i feel it blends nicely, but then one mans meat may be another man's poison, so it's very individualistic.
