I play pop and rock genre. What type of rides would be favourable for me?

I like the sound of dry rides like the Paiste Signature Dry Ride.

I go for clear stick defintion and a great bell as my main priorities. You guys got recommendations?

Or you got some great rides that you've used before or stil using that you can recommend me as well? Thanks!

The best value for money is the Turkish 21" Dry Ride at Music Lab. Don't know whether there is still stock or not... can pm alvinthedrummer...

kwa kwa kwa.... I GOT THAT!!!!!!!!!
really lurve the very defined stick sounds... and of coz the bell, tho not tha loud, but still pleasing to music....
plus, its very musical...
and the big advantage is, its low price and also best value for money as bro DH stated

I know there is a softie brother here who can get Paiste at discounts. U guys know who he is? Is it blurred or who..

well frm my point of view everything come downs to ur taste.
lyk i use equipment in church, e cymbals r for more of rock genre.
but they still sound alright when my fren playes latin on it

hi drumsolo. The Paiste Sig Dry Heavy Ride is awesome if you're looking for defined ride sounds. I use it when i really want to drive a song forwards. Definitely not a candidate for Jazz stuff. Really cuts through the roar and distortion of other instruments. Other candidates are the K Custom 22" or Z Customs. Check out Creed's My Sacrifice on Youtube and see the Z customs in action.

21" Classic Dry Ride has one more left. Actually, if rock is your genre, the Sehzade maybe worth a listen. Its brighter in tone and the bell really cuts (raw bell)

Thanks Freakae, thanks Alvin! I was interested in the Signature Dry Heavy Ride too. Frm the sounds of it, Freakae you have it? How does it feature among rock, pop, ballads and alternative stuff? Versatility? How does the bell sound? So it has defined sticking sounds too from what you said?

Thanks everyone for their contribution!

I use it in my church :D. Its really a HEAVY ride. By versatility i assume you meant for all genres. I guess it really depends on your taste though i wouldnt use it for jazz. Really bright. Loud bell..ah well it basically sounds great with its current application. To drive the dynamics of a song

I was reading up on cymbalholic website and was reading amongst some other drummer reviews. Seems like the Signature Dry Heavy Ride is a driving ride but another ride came up. Seems like the Dark Energy Mk II is quite a good ride with bright, dark sounds. It's like one of the nicest all-rounded cymbal. Any reviews on it yet? It's from the New Signature Series I think.

Yeah, and of course I've heard about the famed Sabian HH Raw Bell Dry Ride but seems like not many have their hands on it here huh?

Oh yes, would like to hear about anyone with the Dark Energy MkI Hats as well? Heard they are a killer, with a crunchier and more meaty tone than the Signature Dark Crisp Hats? Any reviews on that here?

At this rate, I think I better start a Paiste Signature thread instead. Haha..

Yup.. the famed Sabian HH Raw Bell Dry Ride is purdy hard to obtain or shld I say, "extinct in stock" when U want to buy it.8O But I'm using one....

And its sound is a beauty to hear..

woooo... i remember using this for a recording session 2 years ago.... borrowed from pio (ivy's vendetta) good stuff :D

That's the phil collins signature model made only a few thousands!!! glad our fellow brother softies has it!

the paiste DE mk1 hats is really good... haha i'd never part with that hats... though on some songs, i do feel it doesn't blend in well.. it's very dark and meaty...

i think the a custom mastersound 14" hats are great too.

u should ask ahpek1 since he's the one in charge of ordering paiste, and meinl products to excel music sports..

i got it 2nd hand in great condition at 378 dollars from a fellow softie.
