Hmm.

Hail, Crybaby owners! I noticed that quite a number of us own crybaby wah pedals (regardless of model number as long as your wah has the Crybaby name tagged to it) and maybe we could share:

1. the duration of ownership?
2. where it is located in ther signal chain?
3. any modifications possible to various models (pardon me if such a thread regarding the modding of such wahs is already in existence)?
4. what styles of music you use it in?

Just share lah.. and we can all learn a few tips and tricks here and there :)

own for about 4 months, i bought it from my drummer

guitar -> wah
it's the 'normal' way i guess. i tried fuzz -> wah and dist -> wah and it all sounds crap.

i dont mod. dont hv plans to, coz i like the way it already is.

i use it to generate 2.37am noise. fuzz on. dist on. chorus on. delay set to 2.6seconds. and the wah-waka-waka to create sonic mayhem

535q
Owned it for 2 days. Pwned.

i just use it to create interesting sound textures

Radiohead
Bloc party

use the wah on some solos with heavy distortion.

zakk wylde wah owner. pretty much straight up easy to use wah with the on/off function. guitar > wah > amp.

this wah really shines when used with drive and on the bridge pickup. on neck pickup its kinda overly subtle and barely there. the wah adds lots of feral tones to an already screaming bridge solo, esp on the bends.

use it for blues to classic rock.

Hmm.

(probably heard it before.. but here goes anyway)

GCB 95Q user :) I use it with the volume knob turned all the way down and the Q knob at 80% so that the max point of the wah isn't excessively, ear-piercingly trebly.

Currently using it to spice up solos (hard / blues / classic rock music) and unfortunately somehow the "boost" button got lost so I improvised by cutting an acoustic bridge pin in half and sticking the bigger end into the button hole as a makeshift button. LOL.

Owned for close to 3 years now... gave it a custom paint job too.

this is an old picture btw.

I have the most basic GCB95, got it because of Tom Morello wah wah heroics, wanted to create those funky cool riffs/nosie he does on his wah, but ended up sounding chessy whenever I use it  Now its out of my chain, comtemplating selling it

does anyone tend to make the wah wah sound with your mouth or do the steve vai/joe satriani face when you step on the wah wah? Hahaha.

for me...

Jimi Hendrix fuzz wah..

had it for bout a year now..got it during post sweelee sale at discount...paid $180 brand new..dont ask how..

sounds flat but im fine with it..

3rd in my chain
SD-1 -> vox bulldog -> JH-1F -> DD-6 -> microcube

I like my wah after the drives...ala frusciante...the wah sounds MUCH better after drives imo cause its more distinct..

cant think of any mods but...hoping that I can find a fuzz cause the internal fuzz causes a vol drop..but Im fine with it..not a big deal

Don't mean to hi-jack the thread.

But have you guys tried the VOX V84x Wahs

They sound really awesome, I've used and sold off a few crybabies
a few times cos i just don't like how it sounds.

Just bought a VOX v847, and I know I'm sticking to it.
Gona mod it to true bypass with LED and adding a 9V input

Or yeah if you need yours modded just pm me, lol

just my 2cents

I like the way they call their pedal INDESTRUCTABLE.

Btw way have any of you guys watch "Will it blend" videos?
Wonder if an Ernie Ball will blend.

Crawldaddy, wahs are very easy to mod to true bypass... its one of the more common mods.

Can go to randolf for a buttload (& MORE!) of tweaking options!
