Nik Huber Orca

Nik Huber started off working at PRS. With that in mind it's hard to miss the corelation of his designs in regards to PRS's.

Quite elated that he brought back the orca design recently.

Cute! But the orcas on the headstock and fretboard inlays have long snouts, which makes them.. dolphins.

Lol.. sorry I couldn't tell birds from dolphins ;)

What I am saying is in fact, the way he styles his guitars shows his relation with PRS ie. the way he stains his finishes, the coatings he uses for his finishes, the choice to use dolphins as a mascot for his inlays compared to birds for PRS, the exact same jack plate assembly, an adaptation of the original PRS trem system and etc.

Anyway, it has already been expressed if you're not convinced, somewhere on the nik huber forum. Do note the link on PRS Paul Reed Smith Guitar Forums as their "sister website" to huber. In fact PRSH is his mentor, and his designs are based on PRSH's direct inputs as well.

So take what I say with a pinch of salt, since I clearly cannot distinguish dolphins with their long snouts from birds :p

No, my post wasn't related to birds or PRS, or anything vaguely boutique.

Just thought that the NH Dolphin had dolphin inlays and the Orca would have orca inlays (you know, orcas? killer whales? No, not birds). My bad. (Sorry, I'm no guru on all things boutique - I'm just attracted by cute inlay animals).

My last post on this thread. Almond sir, I bow before your superior knowledge on boutique gear (no need to write thesis and edit, edit). In future, I won't dare comment about cute inlays *slinks back to play mass-produced Squier*

My bad. Misinterpreted your post, thinking that you were comparing prs birds with huber dolphins instead of something more along the lines of huber-huber.

A squier, though mass produced, has been many the tool of a musician who would hone his chops to perfection and become famous one day.

I may come across being such a cork sniffer, but I'm just someone who's as eager as any of you are to share info with my forum mates, though I tend to type it in a tongue in cheek style.

All is well!
