fgl, u can always pm him rite. haaha. off topic seh.
ermm, ok. my band played in events organized by Modus Operandi twice.
namely Sessions02 and SkaWerkz.
1st, Ary did told us about the need to sell 10 tix. we obliged. but not only did we sell 10. but we bought 10 more and some 3 or 4 more bought at the door. its about publicizing about ur band. we posted up about us performing in own blogs, myspace and such. Ary also publicized the event thru SOFT.
the outcome? a big crowd for ur own band. the fact that u bring lots of ppl will give chances of ur friends overpopulating the place, so people will feel out of place if they sit down and stone there. hence a big and jumpy crowd will arise.
so bottomline? put that 50bucks/ 10 tix guideline in a positive manner and up the figure for a better crowd. am i right?
2nd, SkaWerkz was a much publicized event and it was a great great success i must say. the room was 80% full.
bottomline? M.O. do organize gigs that are up to standard given that the response given is good.
Ary also once said before. the better bands from every session will be given a chance to perform in a bigger event sometime in the future. so THAT will determine how good ur band is. or in this sense, how well u rocked the crowd.
its a time for people to get to know each other and exchange talks with other bands. we did talk with Ego Stereo, Ingride etc etc. check the Sessions02 thread. diff bands were talking with each other like we knew them for quite sometime.
its all about being creative in thinking how u can help make Sessions more interesting.
reflect.
