Need help with my guitar dilemma!

my vote goes to the Epi- very playable, good default pickup that reacts well to distortion, u need that for punk, yes?

however, the sole humbucker in there has limited applications but it's all you need for punk IMO... i believe the Epi is in a different price range (despite the price not being available yet) than those J&D.

My only worry is that the body of the Epi is plywood...though MF says it's tonewood...which I don't know what it is...heard plywood gives a crap tone...

Which is why I'm faced with this dilemma...but I think I'm veering more to the Junior camp now...dang...I'm getting all messed up already...

r u going to oni play punk?....if so go for the epi jr....

if u might be going into metal or ani other genre in the future......consider the j&d lp with setneck......

if ani how u buy the lp jr n dun like it.....can always sell to me...seriously[/b]

definately the epi. :wink: But since your budget is 400 why dont you try getting a 2nd hand epi standard?i believe you can get it for around 300-400.

how would u find J&D guitars in singapore? where else do they sell em besides Ranking??? and like what if they dont have what ur lookin for ?

400 +++ ?

Yamaha comes to mind. :)

No, no...Les Pauls only...but I think I'll go for the Junior...I'd have to remove lots of stuff if I were to get the "normal" LPs...I'll go try 'em out nxt week...

+10000 to shredcow

yamaha DOES make excellent guitars for the price, though sooner or later you'd want to change the pickups to better ones (recommend skypickups for the price or sd for a bit more)

+10000 to the second hand epi guy

i think thats a better idea to get a standard. apparently standard sounds better, and since arnd the same price... go for it!
