Floyd rose, or no floyd rose? HELP!!!

I've just realised that guitars with floyd rose bridges are really troublesome to maintain and drop tunings(cos all of them have locking nut. you'll have to remove the screws and do alot other stuff just to drop the tuning). You will have to adjust the tuning and the floyd rose bridge at the same time, and this takes up a lot of energy and time. I am thinking of getting guitars without floyd bridges(esp ltd h351nt) but my band plays j-rock/visual kei and some other stuff(rock, heavy metal, chi-pop). Mostly gazette's songs. Gazette's songs are all in drop tunings(drop c, drop b , drop d) but they have old songs that need the floyd rose too. There other songs that we play by other artists that need floyd bridges too. I really dunno which i shld get, fr or no fr, so i need ur help. My current guitar is a fixed bridge if u are wondering. I have a budget of 1000++. Targeting at esp or ltd guitars pls. If possible tell me the pros and cons of fr guitars and no fr guitars. Thnx in advance.

when it comes to changing strings & tuning stability- it's all about learning. no point owning a dual action whammy bridge & complaining all the time when the owner has no intentions to take control of the situation.

in terms of practicality, if you need to change tuning, having a non-locking nut/ bridge would be the ideal.

also, if you own a non-whammy guitar, you can still cheat by doing it with a whammy pedal... he he...

however, your budget suggests that you can own both a whammy-bridge equipped guitar & a fixed bridge unit.

@subversion: I have read up on the changing of tunings and strings for the fr bridge yesterday and is willing to learn, but still, I need to choose cos if i am performing, and let say drop d-c, cant possibly unscrew the nut adjust the tuning, adjust the bridge, then screw back everything on and continue to perform rite? It will take up ALOT of time and it will look pathetic. XD. So you are suggesting tt I get two middle end-guitars, one with floyd and one without floyd rite? Ok. I will consider but thnx a lot for ur help and may i know how much does the whammy pedal usually cost? :)

Anyway, wad if i want to just devote the 1000++ budget to just a high end guitar, which one shld be more ideal for me? Fr or no fr? If almost all the songs i am playing are in dropped tuning, then it should be more ideal to get the fr-no models rite?

ppl with floating trem guitars usually keep them in one tuning. if ur trem is stable the tuning shouldnt run too far that u cant tune it right using the fine tuners. have one guitar for drop c and one for drop d. but if u really want to have only one guitar then tell ur band members that it is ridiculous to have songs with whammy parts but jam songs in diff tunings.

If this video shows you all the tricks you intend to do with your floyd-equipped guitar...

Then you don't really need a floyd rose equipped guitar. You just need to be Jake E Lee.

Honestly speaking, floating bridges are a pain in the ass. But if you get everything right, the intonation the action and a few other tweaks it stays in tune very well even after heavy dives. And i dont really see a problem with the locking nut, you just have to have a allen key lying around to make tuning changes.

But if you still are hell-bent on getting a trem but don't like the the flaws, get the tremel-no system. It blocks out the usage of the tremolo so you basically have a fixed bridge.

Thnx people, for all the advises and help :). I'll think I'll get a trem-no system cos i really drop the tuning alot. Though, I may still consider getting two guitars. Thnx everyone!
