need help in my "neoclassical metal " research

Hi fellow softies,

i'm doing a research paper in neolcassical metal, its about how than came about, how are they fused together. I tried google, but i cant use any reference on wiki. Any 1 has any helpful links to link me thanks.

some bands would be malmsteen, warmen,etc (those metal bands with classical/ baroque elements in them.

From my opinion, Ritchie Blackmore sorta gave this genre its roots but it wasn't till Malmsteen back in 1984 with The Rising Force album that defined Neo-Classical Metal genre as a whole. From then on, many Malmsteen clones and many new bands evolved the genre even further, eg. Power Metal, etc...

these are ultimately categories created by ppl, which may not be widely used by others. its better if you do a google search using the keywords instead

then you may find a whole variety of artists/links that wld help you form a better picture of this whole thing

and isnt this neoclassical thing also related somewat to Progressive and Power/Symphonic metal?

um, Randy Rhoads.
His work on Ozzy's 1st solo album in 1980, way before Malmsteen and the others.

But yea, Ritchie Blackmore even before him, although Rhoads took the style further.
