hey guys

i am gonna buy a guitar from a seller on thegearpage..... any one done it before?... i need advice on the cheapest and safest shipping company from the
US..and is there any duties or tax that i have to pay at the singapore customs.....any other things that i need to know about?

thanks guys

For me, normally seller do the shipment.
Sometime, I will tell the seller to ship with insurance.
The cost is much higher, and you can claim the damages from the shipper if anything goes wrong.
You will be tax cos for insurance, the seller will state the selling price + the shipment cost.

I'm a frequent browser of TGP.

The mode of shipping would depend on you and the seller work thins out. And definitely yes there are taxes you've got to pay at our customs. I rmber shipping a guitar in from the USA previously at about 1.1k, the taxes was about $150? something along those line. There is no such things as the 'cheapest/safest shipping company from USA.' everyone has their own fair share of their positives/negatives with various companies. What i can tell you to do is to ensure there is a legitimate tracking number from the seller as well as an insurance policy with guidelines displayed to you before you conduct this transaction.

That should be it.
