My pedal board plan...

Distortion - MI Audio Crunch Box
Overdrive - Fulltone OCD
Fuzz - Little Big Muff Pi
Chorus - Boss CE-5
Delay - Boss DD-7
Compressor - Barber Tone Press
Noise Suppressor - ISP Decimator Noise Reduction

Distortion : Radial Classic Tube Distortion (I like this for harmonics, instead of the thick sound like the crunch box)

or if you'd like versatility, MI Audio Tube Zone. I don't really get the idea nor like fuzz... so... no comment...

For ambience
Reverb : EHX Holy Grail
This can replace having chorus and delay (unless you're specific about the effect... and not pairing them just for ambience)

Having a looper would be useful. (like having parts where you play a little accompanying, engage looper, let it run while you improv / solo) But in the end, its all about creating that desired sound. Noise suppressor can get later, not pt having it if you don't have excessive noise from your set-up.

Other than that... actually your set-up is rather desirable ($$$), though I wouldn't engage both the crunch box and fuzz at the same time... Die of hum or something...

The OCD at lower gain settings can be used as an OD as well.. The picking dynamics is simply shiok!!!
But I think the FD-2 is a much better choice for OD at that price range..
I don't really fancy the CB.. I'd say Seekz Punchtone does the job..
Everything else is okay.. The chorus could be changed though..

people forget your amp is 20% of your tone. Fingers and soul, is that 50%, guitar and pickups 30%.

Pedals just shape that tone.

But those percentages are just me. Others would think otherwise and thats cool =]

I mean a Butler Tube Overdrive tru a Landgraff to a Blackstone and a King Of Tone with a Analogman Chorus and Nova Delay and a Keely Comp and a Reese Wheels of Fire and a bunch of Moogs with a Roland Space Station will sound different through a Marshall 15CDR as compared to a Matchless DC30 or a Dumble or a Mesa Boogie stack.

I would say the amp is the most major part of the tone.. I always think of it this way:
A $5000 dollar guitar into a $50 dollar amp will sound shitty, but a $50 guitar into a $5000 dollar amp would still sound acceptable!:mrgreen:

ok..so i'll update the stuffs...its now what i'll get through many years of saving...
its in order by the way...oh ya,i already have a distortion pedal...ibanez SM7

Fuzz - Little Big Muff
Overdrive - Bad Monkey
Noise Suppressor - ISP Decimator Noise Reduction

A tube amp...probably not that big or small...Peavey classic 30 maybe?

i'll skip the distortion pedal and replace it with the OD pedal (bad monkey) and a compressor (Barber Tone Press)

Might want to upgrade the monkey but like 5 years from now, after i get the compressor :p

chorus, reverb all the other stuffs, much later bah...

do you guys think the little big muff will sound good through the peavey classic 30?

i believe that when pple talk abt using amp drive they are talking abt those kinda amps which are made for drive. u wont get a really nice sound using a clean amp plus an od. it still wont give u distortion.

what kind of music do you play anyway? the classic 30 has a clean and a dirty channel. you might wanna just use the dirty channel for your distortion, with an OD or something.

Hmm... I am just curious how many ppl who rely on amp dist have the luxury of using your own amp for all jamming and gigs? I guess even if one plan to have a nice tube amp that can handle all the different gain needs (diezel VH4 etc.), it might be more practical to have your prefered dist. pedal around for use with an amp set to clean.

14 and about a few proper months of electric...as for acoustic...one and a half proper years

Well.

Just go out. Get a simple setup. Don't bother about the tubes and the size of the speaker and the wonderful toys you can have at your feet.

Why did you pick up guitar? To play the thing right?

You don't have to bother about such things to play well. Yes, these things can motivate and can help you innovate but look - if you didn't have some fancy $5 pen, you'd still be able to write a beautiful composition with your $0.40 pen right? Now you didn't have a pen...

You got an electric guitar already?

Grab a Roland Cube30, or even the MicroCube... which is an amp with a variety of tones and effects... and just start playing.

Heck, you don't even need a multi-effects amp thing... just an amp with decent distortion, some ibanez amp or a marshall mg series thing... will do.

heh, with internet its hard to do that lah

last time can, now cannot. I mean, with internet and forums. No need play so much, just buy!

*meant to be confusing and misleading*
