Guys, i bought an old guitar from my native country.
This will be my new project.

yah, it was spray-painted by the previous owner.

It's just a fun project for me.

The cavity is actually very small. The small strip at the back, about 7-8 inches long and 1.5 thick. It's just a length of the two pots end to end.

I'll post updates as soon as I start working on it. I hasn't even reached singapore yet. Hopefully i can get it here soon.

Hmm.

oh dear oh dear, what do we have here? Well I would strongly recommend you sand off that god-awful finish and please be patient when refinishing it, wait a couple of days before fine-wet-sanding each coat of paint.

I can even see some of the paint being spray onto the pickups! messy indeed.

However, do remember that the thinner the finish, the more easily the inherent tone of the guitar's wood can come through, so don't just spray over an old finish!

crawldaddy, give a guess as to what the guitars wood is? i have no idea, but it doesn't look like the wood is gonna be of any decent quality. but then, you never know. it might be like mahogany or something. :lol:

Hmm.

Haiyah.. how to tell the wood, bro? And hmmmsss... don't diss plywood too easily, I've actually tried a plywood LP (MIJ...?) that sounded pretty good with a pair of jackson pickups. Got good sustain too apparently. But still weighed like a block of bricks.

Not sure what the wood is, that's why I've already asked someone to strip off the paint. Asked him to send me a pic once it's nude.
